BROOKLYN PARK-- We take a very deep look at some of my favorite gunslingers at the Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase with over 2000 words of what we saw from our live evaluations of 12 quarterbacks that surely caught my attention in their live reps at the Park Center Dome a couple Sundays ago. We saw plenty of under the radar names, quarterbacks that just have great quick chemistry they can build with wide receivers, and plenty of gunslingers with loaded arm strength and great timing, and most in my eyes are destined to play at the next level.

Henry was a 2026 quarterback that I wish I could have watched more reps out of him at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase last Sunday, as the reps I did get to watch were intriguing. He showed off what was a quick release and also showed off some fluidity in his finish of the throws I got to watch. He also showed off some sound precision in the reps I got to watch as there was plenty of great balance with watching his poise and timing with the three-level execution that I was able to watch at the Park Center Dome out Henry. Surely was one of best prospects overall that we found out of the St. Cloud Area on Sunday which makes me intrigued to watch this Crusader in his senior season.

One of a couple Anoka Tornados 2027 quarterbacks we got to watch on Sunday at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase. Blake was one that was surely impressive with his touch passes on intermediate routes from what I got to watch at Park Center. Not only could I gauge the persistence with Blakes touch throws last Sunday, I could also tell how quickly this young man could build rapport with the receiving core he rolled into 1v1s with, as one of probably the best 2027 quarterbacks I got a live eval on with his precision and one that doesn't seem like with his solid football IQ that would force a throw if it doesn't appear to be clearly there. It surely appears the QB room at Anoka is in great hands in the coming years as Blake is one that I already feel in the 2027 class that should in the end be a next-level fit.

Jack is a 2027 quarterback that intrigued me during the 7v7 season last year, and has surely made some great gains in improving his skillsets since last fall as he started as one of the first quarterbacks to pass the eye test at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase. Where I saw the growth in multiple ways, started with the great poise I thought Jack showed in the pocket from the reps I got to watch. I also felt Jack has vastly improved with not just the speed of his technique but I surely saw more balance and fluidity getting thru to his throwing motion in my eyes. There is still upside to grow with Jack on his out routes along the edges with continuing to grow his touch, but outside of that I liked the outing this 2027 gunslinger had at our showcase last Sunday.

I know Derrick has already been evaluated from our Prep Redzone Minnesota staff, but I would be remissed if I didn't give this young man another shoutout for his performance last Sunday. He surely has room to grow out his frame, but this kid showed off a cannon for an arm for his size, and I also was very impressed with the precison he showed off with the routes he threw on during 1v1s as you could gauge Derrick is a 2027 gunslinger that has an excellent football IQ that will continue to grow. He also showed off the persistence I want to see out of a young quarterback showing off great timing on all three levels of the field he was able to throw on during 1v1s. Anoka surely has a QB of the future that I will keeping tracking over the coming years for sure as I cannot wait to keep watching his growth.

Andrew was a 2026 quarterback from our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase that surely is one intrigued me with his upside heading into his senior season. I could gauge by the early reps the athleticism this young man getting out of the pocket would show, based on his pro agility number he showed off running in the mid-4.5s. In the later reps I got to watch out of Andrew, he showed off well-noted touch and balance especially when I watched some of his throws on intermediate routes later at our showcase at the Park Center Dome. I believe the upside can grow for this young man with growing a quicker release while watching his technique, which showed off to be fluid, but I feel he has the wiggle room to speed up his progressions even more. Andrew is one to watch out of the Minneapolis city conference for sure as we look ahead already to the 2025 season as one I like the potential to play on Saturdays.

Aidan was a quarterback that got on my radar probably later than he should have, as in the end he was one of our top performers amongst the quarterback group for the final rally of reps at the end of our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase. He was one that aced the live eval with the excellent timing he showed off within his reps I got to watch and had a few throws that were those ones that evaluators like to say "fit right in the bucket" with the arm talent that Aidan possessed during 1v1s on intermediate and deep routes consistently. With very very light tape and no Twitter (yet) Aidan was surely an under the radar quarterback that surely showed out in Tanner Morgan's quarterback group at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase and one that has great upside to show off in the coming years out of Coon Rapids.

It was probably a little under a year ago that I got my first live eval on Minnetonka 2027 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1029336' first='Caden' last='Gutzmer'] and looking back at my notebook from a couple Sundays back, I like the growth that has been made by Caden. He surely showed off some of the best footwork I saw in the quarterback group at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase as you could quickly gauge the great balance Caden showed off set the tone from there to releasing the football. He showed off as one of a couple quarterbacks during 1v1s in this QB room that showed off the how quick he could grow chemistry with the receiving core as I could tell Caden excelled with hearing the attention to detail he had pre-snap which is a contribution to his football IQ. Caden also showed off some of the deepest as far as arm strength in the reps I which and from a technique prespective, shows off great release speed and tons of fluid mechanics in the reps I watched.

One of the top ranked 2027 quarterbacks we have in Minnesota, I surely had Christian circled in my pre-showcase look of quarterbacks to watch last Sunday and he showed off why. If I am looking back in my notebook, Christian had some of the most impeccable timing that I got to watch amongst the quarterback group and watching that consistently rep after rep showed off what I wanted to see in a young gunslinger. Anytime you get reported on by muliple scouts at a PRZ Showcase with 200+ athletes in attendance you have to have impressed and with Christian that impression also led well by the great poise he showed in the reps I watched as despite being a little undersized, he showed his efficently on all three levels. I'll be intrigued to see where Christian ends up on our next 2027 rankings update as the sophomore tape is intriguing.

Everett was another quarterback that probably had the best eye-test rating amongst the quarterback group as he showed off all of his 6'4 215 pound frame at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase. He was a 2027 gunslinger that intrigued me with his arm talent out of the pocket and in the end, Everett was one of our quarterbacks that made it into the top performers group amongst the quarterbacks. He also showed off in the reps I watched the great balance I could quickly gauge with his ball placement as the precision and timing was surely noted in the live eval reps I got out of Everett at the Park Center Dome. He is a 2027 gunslinger that I surely believe from what I got out of our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase should be a sound newcomer to our 2027 rankings in my eyes.

Reed by far was my favorite 2028 gunslinger at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase last Sunday, as I loved seeing how much he has developed since watching him a 612Qs session as an 8th grade that then I could log the upside that was there for the taking for this young man's development. My notepad was surely one of the more stocked that it's ever been on one prospect at our showcases. Reed I felt was the most mechanically sound quarterback I watched amongst the underclassmen group of quarterback as he showed off great fluidity and balance come thru from watching Reed's reps. I also was intrigued with his impressive throwing angles that I got to watch which was one of the more polished angles I saw from the entire quarterback grouping in Brooklyn Park. The 6'1 165 pounder was surely one of our top performers amongst our PRZ scouts in attendance in our eyes and has a bright football future to keep up the growth over the coming years.

I don't believe there was any quarterback in attendance regardless of class that could build rapport with his wide receivers as fast as Stillwater 2026 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='224134' first='Nick' last='Kinsey'], who has been our consistent QB1 in the 2026 class in Minnesota. He just has continued to have that excellent knack of poise and determined demeanor that you want out of your quarterback and could make any throw on all three levels that I watched a couple Sundays ago, which is similar to what I have been saying about Nick since he was a middle schooler when I got my first live look at him years ago already. He has surely grown his soaring arm strength since our first look back then but continued to test his range in 1v1s by not ever taking the easiest route with a high success rate, he always went for difficulty in the reps I got to watch at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase. You can also the "fun" meter that Nick has in showcase settings as he is always the first one there to motivate his teammates, other athletes and the locked in character you want in your gunslinger. With already a handful of FBS and P4 offers, this upcoming late spring/summer is a huge one for Nick to add more to his resume on his recruiting trail.

Talk about a young man that went hammer down in the weight room from my last live eval, as it was pretty easy to see why Wayzata quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='725721' first='Thor' last='Soukup'] was named our quarterback MVP from the Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase a couple Sunday ago. I loved what I saw as far as growth that Thor showed off in the pocket since our last Minnesota showcase as he didn't just hit his wide receivers in stride, he certainly has developed his timing since last time and that was seen on all three levels of the field that I watched in Brooklyn Park. He also in my eyes brought more fire with that growing frame with his arm strength and surely was surely one of the best mechanically sound quarterbacks we saw on Sunday. There is a great reason why I call this my Gunslinger series from our showcases, as Thor surely lived up to that name with his mega arm talent that he brought to the table and is headed to Wayzata next year as their QB1.
