Simley holds one of the more underrated signal-callers in the conference with Christian Urbina Christian Urbina 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB Simley | 2027 State MN , who despite their struggles had a promising showing throughout his junior season. Urbina finished with 940 passing yards, 11 TDs, and 5 INTs while adding 2 rushing TDs. Urbina flashes a solid level of power in his throws, even when placed under duress, which was often last season, but he still delivered really nice passes on a regular basis. Urbina works well in the RPO-game, making quick progressions and zipping passes through tight windows. Urbina has easily been the shining star for Simley’s football team as he enters his senior campaign.

A consistent riser at QB throughout the past couple of years, Urbina’s development has been rapid and noticeable. Boasting a 3.7 GPA and some excellent junior tape, Urbina is someone I think could truly breakout next season. Early on in his film, he showcases impressive pocket mobility, fantastic poise under pressure, and the ability to deliver dimes while off-platform and/or on the run. His deep ball placement is eye-catching, especially on corner routes where he’s able to perfectly drop the ball into a receiver’s hands. The touch he puts on the ball when throwing intermediate routes is impressive as well. There’s a lot to like on Urbina’s tape, and with a solid camp circuit this offseason, I think we could see his stock rise again.

I got to see Urbina cook for the first time in person yesterday, and man I was impressed. His ability to throw off-platform really stood out, both on the run and off of one foot. His accuracy on short to mid-level balls was also high-level, and he did a nice job of anticipating quick windows later on in the day. Another 2027 QB with a high upside after a successful sophomore season.

The class of 2027 has some legitimate talent riddled throughout it, and Urbina is one of the best examples of this. The sophomore was given the keys to the offense this year, leading them to a 4-3 record through week 7. Urbina has thrown for 884 yards and 12 TDs with only 5 interceptions heading into the last week of the season. Boasting a snappy release and an underrated arm talent, Urbina has definitely solidified himself as a 2027 prospect to watch with a high upside.
