D3 State Final Preview: Bishop Watterson vs Tol. Central Catholic

Division 3 will see a rematch of 2023's state championship game. Last season, the Toledo Central Catholic Fighting Irish took down the Bishop Watterson Eagles 27-7. Both Bishop Watterson and Toledo Central Catholic have new teams and new players with some emerging stars in the Ohio high school football scene this season. With that, let's give a slight preview of some players to look for on Friday in Canton.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bishop Watterson</h2>    Eglitis is a dominant force at OT for Bishop Watterson, and will look to continue his path of dominance. He has overwhelming first contact and can knock rushers off balance. He has great lower half push when needed and can drive well. He loves to finish blocks with his rusher in the dirt, and he finishes quite often. Eglitis holds 3 D1 offers as of now and has been earning visits to several FBS programs throughout the season.     Bellisari is a total playmaker at the quarterback position. He consistently makes plays off-balance and out of sync. He is very smart and keeps the ball out of harm's way, and he can make you have to change a game plan to limit his success. He has had a great season and has been rewarded with an invite to the National Combine at the U.S. Army Bowl. He has also received gameday visits from multiple FBS programs this season.     Weber is a very solid back who has great vision and anticipation. Weber has maulers in front of him, and he does great at finding the holes they leave for him. He has good burst to get up to speed quickly and is hard to bring down. Defensively, he is a stout linebacker who is very good at shooting gaps and forcing tackles around the line of scrimmage. His physicality and intelligence are his strongest 2 assets he offers, and he packs quite a punch when he is on the field.     Boyle is a young yet physically dominant force on the defensive line for Bishop Watterson. Boyle is a dominant pass rusher and can beat you multiple pass rush moves from the inside. He is very strong in his push and can overwhelm interior offensive linemen. He is explosive and can blow by lineman to get into the backfield. He has a high motor and is a player you see going for the big play on every snap.     Uhlenhake has been WR1 for Watterson this season. He has great top speed, and has shown it in both the receiving and kick return game. He has a big catch radius and can find his way back to balls that many couldn't come down with. He has the ability to make special catches in single coverage situations. Uhlenhake is a good deep threat and his presence alone opens up the offense.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Toledo Central Catholic</h2>    Singleton's skills reflect the ranking he has in our 2026 player rankings. He is an athletic freak who can make any play on the field. He is 6' but holds a long wingspan which aids in making freakish catches and leveraging space to manipulate a quarterback's eyes. He is extremely smart and knows the danger of playing DB while being aggressive and trying to make a play on the ball. Singleton may just be not only the best player in this game but also being one of the best players showcased this weekend.     Fryzel is a very intelligent wide receiver who offers his gunslinger an option he can always rely on. He is very good at knowing when to turn it on and when to slow down and play. His route running is slick, and his speed can blow by you in an instant. At 6'4", Fryzel is dominant in the air and can shift his body to make some impressive catches.     Beydoun handles pressure well, and can make plays either passing or rushing under duress. He can seek out a defense both pre and post snap, and is very good at staying on rhythm and finding open receivers. His arm is impressive and he can beat you deep if given the opportunity. His release is very snappy and looks well developed for a sophomore, which helps his ball velocity and gets the ball to his weapons with zip.     Morgan may only be 5'8'' and 175 LBS, but he runs like a bowling ball going downhill. Morgan offers a ton of physicality and is very good at manipulating his blockers. He is patient and lets his teammates clear space before taking off. Morgan is elusive, able to go east and west to evade tacklers before putting his head down and fighting for extra yards. He may not be the biggest running back you have ever seen, but you will remember the toughness he brings to the field and opposing defenders.     Lawrence is a lengthy DB who has exceptional coverage skills. He is extremely hard to shake off as he is physical and offers great top speed. As a player, he is scrappy and is just someone who never looks out of place. He can take off the line with anyone and keep up while also being able to fly in from high safety to make a play on the ball. Lawrence doesn't get as much credit as he does due to other defensive standouts for Toledo Central Catholic, but Lawrence has my attention this weekend as he'll have to line up against a deep core of weapons.
