Michael recently committed to the home state Buckeyes of Ohio State to wrestle. Listed as one of the best wrestlers in the state for the class of 2027, he brings his strength and body control to the gridiron. He is quick to get off the line and can use his hands to swipe past interior offensive linemen in pass rush. He does a great job at standing his blocker up and uses his strength to push forward. I’ve said it many times, and I’ll repeat it: Boyle is one of my favorite watches on tape because of what he can do at his position and for making the “undersized” tag irrelevant.

Boyle continues to wreck offensive game plans despite his size. He was in the backfield several times and made plays at the line of scrimmage. On several reps, he completely moved his guard into a rushing lane to make the play. Boyle’s skill set is impressive for his position.

Boyle is someone I have very high regard for. As a state champion wrestler, Boyle brings over his balance and power to the interior defensive line. Boyle is quick to get off the line and can combo his power with his athleticism to stand his man up. He might be undersized on paper, but Boyle acts as a 6’6” 350 lbs nose tackle when on the field.

Bishop Watterson had a great 2024 season that wrapped up with a 19-14 win over Toledo Central Catholic and an undefeated 16-0 season. A big part of that undefeated team was their play on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Boyle played defensive tackle on the Eagles defense. Though he was undersized I love his film and the way he plays the game. Boyle plays a physical and violent style of football. He plays with great pad level and has the strength to consistently stand his man up. He has an explosive get-off and a the acceleration to quickly disrupt and make plays in the backfield. Because of his size he’ll have to move outside at the college level, but with his strength and athleticism, I don’t anticipate that being an issue. I’m excited to see how Boyle continues to grow and develop.
