[player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] - Junior Quarterback - Jones

There are a handful of programs that we just expect to have a solid starter at quarterback and Jones is one of them. The new QB1 for the Longhorns has been junior [player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] and he's definitely lived up to all of the preseason hype. Hansen has thrown for over 2,100 yards and 24 touchdowns and he's also leading the team in rushing. We caught Hansen and the Longhorns in person earlier this year and they came up short to Millwood. Despite the road loss, Hansen definitely impressed us with his playmaking ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='1163094' first='Bradley' last='Breland'] - Senior Running Back - Kiefer

Kiefer had to reload after making a run all the way to the 2A semifinals a year ago. One bright side on a relatively new offense has been senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1163094' first='Bradley' last='Breland'] and he's performed at a high level. He's been a 1,000-yard rusher for the Trojans this season and he's turned into a player that has a nose for the end zone. Breland and the Trojans now turns their attention to the playoffs. They open up the postseason at home against Tahlequah Sequoyah. Breland and the Trojans want to have a memorable playoff run.

[player_tooltip player_id='434614' first='CJ' last='Turnbull'] - Junior Quarterback - Millwood

Millwood junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='434614' first='CJ' last='Turnbull'] has turned the corner and become one of the best quarterbacks in the state this season. In one of the biggest games of the year, a home game against Jones, Turnbull was calm, cool and collected as he torched the Longhorn defense with his arm and his legs. It was apparent to us while watching that the light had come on and he had full control of this offense. Turnbull appears to be ready to lead the Falcons back to Edmond and capture that elusive gold ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] - Freshman Quarterback - Washington

Washington comes into the playoffs as the heavy favorite to capture another state championship and they have a freshman leading the way on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] has been QB1 for the Warriors since the start of the year and he has more than exceeded all possible preseason expectations. Not only has he played at a high level, he's also elevated his game in some of the biggest games of the year. And that's certainly a very positive sign for how he'll look when the playoff pressure gets ratcheted up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1292050' first='Kincayde' last='Eng'] - Junior Quarterback - Metro Christian

A lot of what we said about Jones can be repeated here about Metro Christian. It seems like the Patriots routinely have one of the better passers in their class and this season is no different. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1292050' first='Kincayde' last='Eng'] took over as signal caller of the Metro Christian offense and he's been lights out this season. He's helped guide the Patriots to a perfect regular season and he's been incredibly efficient in the process. Metro Christian could very well contend for the state title and Eng is the motor making them go.

[player_tooltip player_id='1045558' first='Luke' last='Quinter'] - Junior Running Back/Linebacker - Bethel

Bethel has a tough task of playing district champion Metro Christian in the first round. But we think that they also have one of the better two-way players in the Class 2A-1 playoffs. Junior running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1045558' first='Luke' last='Quinter'] has been a player that has produced at a very high level and it's felt like he's done it on a weekly basis. An average stat line for Quinter is something like 150 yards and three touchdowns on the ground while racking up 10-15 tackles on defense. He's been an absolute beast this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1330264' first='Parks' last='Ratzlaff'] - Junior Running Back/Linebacker - Kingston

When we look at the 2A-1 landscape, Kingston is definitely a team that should be taken a little more seriously around the state. The Redskins have rolled to a 9-1 record and district championship. They've won a lot of games and junior two-way standout [player_tooltip player_id='1330264' first='Parks' last='Ratzlaff'] is a big part of what they do on both sides of the ball. Last season, he had his breakout season and has only continued that this fall. We really like some of the players that Kingston has on the offensive side of the ball and they'll be hard to slow down.

[player_tooltip player_id='587266' first='Quincy' last='Shelton'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Hugo

We mentioned this in our 2A-1 playoff preview but Hugo junior [player_tooltip player_id='587266' first='Quincy' last='Shelton'] might be the best overall playmaker in the 2A-1 playoffs. Shelton has led the Buffaloes back to the playoffs and they'll look to beat Chandler on the road on Friday night. Shelton has been a player to watch since his freshman season and this season, he has taken his game to new heights. It seems like every week he's producing at a high level on the offensive side of the ball and also on special teams as a returner.

[player_tooltip player_id='1558272' first='Tristan' last='Berglan'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Crossings Christian

Crossings Christian has a very tall task in the first round as they have to go on the road to face Millwood. Crossings does have a bright future moving forward with the emergence of sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1558272' first='Tristan' last='Berglan'] at the quarterback position. Berglan has had a very solid season and helped guide the Knights back to the playoffs. While Crossings Christian does have a tough first round match-up, we're looking forward to seeing how Berglan continues to develop over the next few seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1288788' first='Whelan' last='Carson'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Linebacker - Perry

Similar to Berglan and Crossings, senior [player_tooltip player_id='1288788' first='Whelan' last='Carson'] and Perry have the toughest first round match-up as they go on the road to face defending champion Washington. And it's easy to throw out the old saying, "to be the best, you have to beat the best," and when it comes to 2A-1 football, that's Washington. Carson is another example of a two-way player that is just as valuable on either side of the ball. Offensively, he's one of the top pass catchers in the class and on defense, he's a game-wrecking linebacker.
