Every Thursday, we take a look at ten players to watch in some of the best games across Oklahoma. Earlier this week, we broke down some of those top games. We also put out a practice report on Tuttle before their top five 4A showdown with Bethany. This week also kicked off the month of prospect breakdowns. This week, we're looking at the 2028 class. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every day throughout the season for new content!

[player_tooltip player_id='211566' first='Beckett' last='Robinson'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Tahlequah

We've written about senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='211566' first='Beckett' last='Robinson'] quite a bit over the last several years and we still think he's one of the more underrated athletes in the state's 2025 class. Injuries have somewhat limited Robinson in his career but this season, he's off to a great start. Last week, in a massive win over Pryor, Robinson would make a big catch to set up Tahlequah's game-winning field goal as time expired. On the night, he finished with ten catches for over 150 yards and a touchdown. The Tigers will lean on Robinson this week for a massive road clash against Collinsville. If Robinson can produce at that level this week, the Tigers could end up pulling off the district upset on Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='858870' first='Blaine' last='Hipp'] - Junior Quarterback - Hominy

It's a top five clash down in Class A-2 as #4 Hominy goes on the road, looking to take down top-ranked Woodland. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='858870' first='Blaine' last='Hipp'] has had a solid start to his junior season for the Bucks but there's no doubt that Friday's game with the Cougars will be their toughest test of the year. Hipp began his career as a wide receiver and defensive back but when Hominy star Jaxon Woods graduated, Hipp moved over to quarterback. The Bucks are continuing to put their best overall player at the quarterback position and it's paid off so far. Last season, Hominy would stun Woodland in the final minute with a game-winning touchdown. Hipp and the Bucks will look to stun the Cougars again on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] - Senior Running Back - Pauls Valley

It's bounce back time for Pauls Valley after suffering a tough 35-34 loss to Plainview in week five. The Panthers jumped out to a 14-0 lead early on, led by senior star and Baylor commit [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] at the running back position. We've written about Knighten quite a bit throughout his career and it feels like we've written about him almost every week since the season began but he's going to be a name that we're watching this week. The Panthers are hosting a North Rock Creek squad that also features a D1 commit at the running back position so to say this game is a marquee match-up in the running back department would be an understatement. We're looking forward to seeing how Knighten bounces back this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='456293' first='Kayleb' last='Barnett'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Jenks

Jenks bounced back last week with a 31-12 win over previously unbeaten Norman. The Trojans snapped a three-game losing streak and are hoping to continue turning that corner this week on the road against Mustang. Last week, senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='456293' first='Kayleb' last='Barnett'] had his breakout game in a Jenks uniform with a pair of touchdowns in the win. Last week, Enid was able to move the ball on the Mustang defense and Barnett could end up having another big game on Friday night. If Barnett continues to play like we saw him last week, he adds another element to this Jenks offense and definitely makes them more explosive. Barnett is a state champion in track and when he gets in the open field, he's hard to catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1524930' first='Kellen' last='Smith'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Cashion

After tough 2022 and 2023 seasons, Cashion is back in the mix in Class A-1 and it's not surprising that they feature an explosive quarterback on the offensive side of the ball. Sophomore signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='1524930' first='Kellen' last='Smith'] leads the Wildcats with over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns. He's also added over 550 yards and six touchdowns on the ground as the Wildcats are 4-1 coming into this week's Class A-1 showdown. Cashion is hosting a Hooker team that is coming off a trip to the state title game a year ago and expects to make a return trip to Edmond this year. If the Bulldogs are caught looking ahead to next week's title rematch with Fairview, Smith and the Wildcats can take advantage and pull off the upset.

[player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Talihina

Talihina sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] is on the shortlist of players that we want to see in person this season in Class A-2. He has the Golden Tigers at 5-0 and has been a one-man wrecking crew on the offensive side of the ball. Griffith has thrown for nearly 1,300 yards and 17 touchdowns with no interceptions. He's also added nearly 800 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. He's been incredibly consistent with those monster dual-threat numbers as well. Griffith has thrown for at least 200 yards and ran for at least 100 yards in every game this season. Now, they play host to Central Sallisaw on Friday night in a big district clash. If Griffith has another monster game, they could be in the driver's seat for the district crown.

[player_tooltip player_id='1348790' first='Malachi' last='Henderson'] - Senior Running Back - Holdenville

Holdenville has gotten out to a 5-0 start and looks like a team that could end up making a run in Class 2A-2. They'll host Beggs in a massive district showdown and they'll lean on their dominant rushing attack. They have two different players who have over 300 yards on the ground but senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1348790' first='Malachi' last='Henderson'] is without a doubt the leader of this offense. The Holdenville senior has nearly 650 yards on the ground this season with nine touchdowns. Henderson has flipped a switch when district play began. In the last two games alone, Henderson has nearly 400 yards and five touchdowns. He'll look to dominate on the ground once again and keep Holdenville's district title hopes alive.

[player_tooltip player_id='479390' first='Seneca' last='Steele'] - Senior Quarterback - Kansas

In Class 2A-2, there's a district that features three of the top six teams in the 2A-2 rankings. This is the first match-up of the year where they start to play each other as #6 Kansas will host #3 Adair and we'll see Kansas senior [player_tooltip player_id='479390' first='Seneca' last='Steele'] at quarterback, leading the Comets. They suffered an early season loss to Claremore Sequoyah but have bounced back in the last several weeks. Steele is a good-looking quarterback that can throw the ball all over the field and when he needs to, he can beat defenders with his legs. Adair has given up some points to explosive quarterbacks this season so we could end up seeing a high-scoring game. The winner of this contest will stay in the district championship hunt.

[player_tooltip player_id='1159460' first='Serri' last='Sheridan'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Lawton Eisenhower

Lawton Eisenhower got a massive district win last week over Southmoore and senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1159460' first='Serri' last='Sheridan'] was a big part of that victory. Sheridan would finish with nine catches for just under 200 yards and two touchdowns. He also had nearly 100 yards from kick returns. When we watched some of the film from that win, one thing that stood out was his big play ability. Every big play that we saw from Lawton Eisenhower's offense had Sheridan involved. The Eagles will look to keep him involved and keep those big plays coming this week on the road against Putnam City. If the Eagles can pull off the big week six win on the road, they'll be in a very good position within the district standings.

[player_tooltip player_id='360157' first='Xzavier' last='Thompson'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Millwood

Millwood is coming off a big homecoming win over Jones but they don't have much time to celebrate as they now have to go on the road to face an undefeated Oklahoma Christian School squad. Senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='360157' first='Xzavier' last='Thompson'] is coming off a two-touchdown performance in the win over Jones and being crowned Homecoming King at halftime. Thompson is in a similar position to other players on this breakdown like Barnett and Sheridan that can absolutely produce at a very high level but are definitely underrated as prospects within the state's 2025 class. Thompson and the rest of this Millwood offense will look to utilize their overall speed to light up the scoreboard again this week in another top ten showdown.
