Be sure to check back in every Friday to see who has been added to this year's PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watch List! And below this week's nominees, you can also go back and look at who else has been put on the watchlist, as well as previous winners of the award. Here are the next three names!

[player_tooltip player_id='655747' first='Mason' last='Schubert'] - Senior Quarterback - Stillwater

Stillwater is right back in the mix for the 6A-2 state championship this season and a big reason behind that has been the play of senior [player_tooltip player_id='655747' first='Mason' last='Schubert'] at the quarterback position. Schubert joined Stillwater this offseason after playing at Morrison the last few years. Anytime a player makes a jump from one of the smaller schools to a 6A program that is used to contending for state titles, it's always an interesting transition. Schubert has made it look easy and it began this offseason. Schubert impressed us this spring and he's only continued that this fall. He's completing over 70 percent of his passes and has ten touchdowns with only two interceptions. He's the team's second leading rusher and also leads the Pioneers with six touchdowns on the ground. Another part that earns Schubert a spot on this breakdown is his ability to make clutch plays in the game's biggest moments. They stunned Union in overtime and it was a Schubert TD run and two-point conversion that provided the difference. Schubert has the Pioneers right back in contention for the 6A-2 crown. Stillwater came up short in 2023 but they'll be back in the mix in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='587262' first='Ricklan' last='B Holmes II'] - Junior Running Back/Linebacker - Del City

Just like Stillwater, Del City is another team that had to settle for the silver ball last year but has reloaded for another run in 2024. Del City junior [player_tooltip player_id='587262' first='Ricklan' last='B Holmes II'] has emerged as the next star for this Eagle football program. Last season, they had a legitimate three-headed monster of guys that ended up at the D1 level and Holmes might have flown under the radar as a sophomore. But this season, that's not the case and Holmes is just as dangerous on the offensive side of the ball as he is on defense. For us, we like Holmes on the defensive side of the ball at the linebacker position. And we've really liked the growth he's had at the position. He legitimately looks like the leader of this defense and it's a defense that can fly around. Throw in the fact that Holmes gives Del City a very aggressive and physical running back at times and you have a legitimate two-way star. We just watched Holmes in person last week as Del City took down Collinsville and Holmes had an incredibly productive night. Holmes has been a legitimate top ten prospect in the state's 2026 class for a while now but he's elevated his game this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='806158' first='Trey' last='Bennett'] - Senior Quarterback/Defensive Back - Woodland

Way down in the smallest 11-man class in the state, Woodland has solidified their grip on the number one ranking in Class A-2. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='806158' first='Trey' last='Bennett'] is leading the way for the Cougars and he was the player to watch for this team coming into the season. He's a terrific quarterback and has the potential to completely take over a game with his arm or his legs. However, this season, Woodland has had a deep and balanced attack on offense so Bennett hasn't had to do as much in the ground game. He's completing nearly 70 percent of his passes and has thrown for ten touchdowns with just one interception. The Woodland senior has also run for three touchdowns this season. Bennett is coming off a performance in week four that was arguably the best of his senior season. He has momentum right now and the Cougars have backed up the hype. An underrated part of Bennett and the Cougars this season is the fact that they are literally the smallest 11-man school in Oklahoma. Technically, they have the ADM enrollment to play 8-man football but they are the favorites to win Class A-2.
