Olympic at Palisades - Offensive Standouts

The Palisades Pumas won a big game with a strong effort on both sides of the ball over their neighborhood rival, the Olympic Trojans, in the Battle Of Steele Creek. The final score was 27-14, and the Pumas made some timely plays with some special players rising to the occasion. The win gave the Pumas sole possession of first place in the So Meck Conference, as they stand 3-0 in conference play and 6-2 overall. We will profile some players on offense from both teams here.    Fedayeen I thought did a very good job of getting the tough yardage in this game. He was able to show some excellent agility and vision in tight spaces in the running game. Fedayeen had a big run to set up the Pumas' first touchdown in the game in the middle of the 2nd quarter. His consistent running throughout the game, picking up first downs, and keeping the Olympic offense off the field was important in Palisades establishing the game at the tempo they were comfortable in playing.     This was my first time seeing Addison live, and he was much more of a dual-threat quarterback than I anticipated. Addison scored two rushing touchdowns in this game, the first one being a short-yardage touchdown down on the goalline where Addison showed some good power running off of the left side of the offensive formation. The second rushing touchdown came off of a designed rollout where coverage took away Addison's read and he improvised on a 12-yard touchdown run. I spoke with Addison after the game.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/pepman704/status/1844565263540260992 </div></figure>     In speaking with Head Coach Jonathan Simmons of Palisades after the game, he gave credit to his offensive line, most notably this freshman center who has stepped up and played well per Coach Simmons. Palisades runs more than they throw the ball, but either way, when I went back and watched some film, Tim did a good job in holding his own against a tough nose guard for Olympic who is a senior this season. This bodes very well for the future of Tim and the Pumas, and this young man is firmly on our radar for potential ranking in the 2028 class going forward.     Tristin is lightning in a bottle at the wide receiver position for the Pumas - whenever they wanted to take a deep shot down the field, they would design something down the field to get Tristin in one on one coverage. In the 2nd quarter, Tristin was open on a play where Olympic had to commit pass interference or he would have a beautiful touchdown on a post route deep down the field. Tristin has made some big plays in other games this season, and is definitely someone you have to account for as an opposing defense.     The talented 2025 tight end had a rushing touchdown in the third quarter out of a wildcat goalline formation, showing his versatility. Deangelo was used a lot of different ways in this game - he played H-Back/Move TE, in-line TE, flexed-out TE, out wide as a wide receiver, on defense as a pass-rushing defensive end, and there's no doubt in my mind he should be making an impact at a school on the next level. Deangelo also had a nice forced fumble which led to an Olympic recovery and turnover.     The talented wide receiver had a touchdown catch in the 4th quarter against double coverage to make the final score a little more respectable. Alex was the #1 Olympic receiving target, making multiple catches on hitch routes and the quick screen game. Palisades rolled coverage his way in passing situations, but Alex did a good job of making the most of the opportunities that came his way. He has had a couple of big games this season, and will be important for the Trojans as they come down the stretch here in the regular season.
