Offensive Stars Shining to End the Regular Season

Hard to believe that the regular season for 2024 is in the books. Looking across the state, several athletes made the final week a memorable one as they put up big numbers and helped secure big time wins. Wins like Hudson over Rice Lake or Slinger over Cedarburg. Within those game we saw big numbers too like 5 passing TDs, 4 TDs on 9 touches from an under the radar senior, and a hidden gem of a 2025 who made an impact as a runner, thrower, and receiver. Stats: 13/14, 264 Yards, 5 TDs, 10 Carries, 38 Yards   What a performance from the junior QB as he led Hudson to a massive win over Rice Lake to end the regular season. Cooper was surgical and aggressive all night long. He pushed the ball downfield with effective arm strength and was able to dart it into tight windows in the short passing game. The junior signal caller also showed off pinpoint accuracy from the pocket and while on the run. Adair did a great job of going from read to read to find the open man and trusted his legs to get him the time he needed to find the eventual open man. Cooper is hitting his stride at the perfect time of the year. Check out the super efficient and productive night.      Stats: 7 Carries, 75 Yards, 3 TDs, 2 Receptions, 46 Yards, 1 TD   Landon has been a very effective playmaker throughout this season. Week 9 was some of his most efficient work, turning 9 touches on offense into 4 TDs enroute to a victory. The quick athlete is a tough matchup for defenses at the RB or slot WR positions. He uses his speed to get outside of contain and get down the sideline. Landon is at his best in space where he can use his vision to find blocks, seams of daylight, or set up defenders so he can use his speed or agility to exploit their pursuit or over pursuit. Landon has been electric with the ball in his hands this fall. Conv.   One of the most electric, explosive, and dominant WRs in WI is junior [player_tooltip player_id='700021' first='Lamont' last='Hamilton']. Lamont has lightning quick feet and explosive agility that allows him to create space in traffic. Once he creates that space his acceleration and top end speed are a nightmare to contain. You have to swarm him or he will make you pay after the catch. Lamont has elite vision and feel with the ball in his hands and St. Cat's does a great job of finding ways to get him the ball. They line him up at WR and RB and also have him back as a returner. However they can get him the ball with room to see the field. Senior WR/S [player_tooltip player_id='685843' first='Tyler' last='Lessard'] was the athlete on the receiving end of that big passing day a lot of the time. Tyler has an elite frame to give a big catch radius to his QB and is also useful to box out DBs in the quick passing game. Tyler also is showing improved balance and route running. You see it on that quick slant that he takes to the house early in his highlights. You also see the top end speed to run away from the field of defenders. Downfield, Tyler does a great job of tracking the ball over his shoulder and adjusting to it so he can be in position to high point the ball or shield the ball from a defender. The senior has a strong hands to match that big frame. The senior is one of the top available athletes in WI.      Stats: 12 Completions, 230 Yards, 2 TDs, 80 Yards Rushing, 1 TD, 2 Receptions, 21 Yards, 1 TD   Kameron did a bit of everything in a super productive Week 9 performance. Throwing, running, and even some receiving, not to mention his play on defense. The senior is a well rounded, talented athlete who is able to make everything he does look easy. Whether it is delivering an accurate pass, making defenders miss in a phone booth, and flying around on defense. Kameron has a great feel for the game of football and has excellent awareness of what is going on when he is on the field. The senior is at his best when he can let that mental strength and athleticism shine. Whether that be flying around at safety or carrying the ball on offense. The senior is a playmaker and looking more and more like a legitimate hidden gem in the Class of 2025. Check out the impressive highlights.      Stats: 28 Carries, 194 Yards, 4 TDs   Wisconsin Dells is having a great season and a big reason why is the workhorse play of junior [player_tooltip player_id='1599741' first='Sam' last='Ersland']. The 5'9" 175 lbs athlete is an exciting playmaker who thrives in the heavy usage role that the Dells has him in. Sam has fantastic vision with the ball in his hands. He seems to always find the path of least resistance while always gaining ground. You don't see him hesitate or dance or waste time in the backfield. He sees blocks or holes and attacks. The quick twitch agility that he has also aids in that downhill attack because he can make a man miss last second or change direction on a dime. The explosive athlete is also a slippery runner who breaks through more arm tackles that you would expect from a 175 lbs athlete. The heavy rushing attack led by Sam should have Wisconsin Dells ready for a run in the postseason. Keep an eye on this dude.      Stats: 14 Carries, 145 Yards, 3 TDs, 1 Reception, 16 Yards, 1 TD   Brett is a tone setter on offense and defense for Plymouth. He is a strong, physical runner who has the ability to create yards after contact on a consistent basis. Brett's strong frame allows him to break tackles, absorb hits without getting knocked off balance, and he has an effective stiff arm that he showed off a couple times in Week 9. The senior is a one cut runner who is best when he can stick his foot in the ground, get up field, and punish defenders. That same physicality shows on defense too. The senior has position versatility and is well worth a look.      Stats: 16 Carries, 143 Yards, 1 TD   Slinger and Hendricks added one more impressive win to their resume in the final week of the season and look ready for a big playoff push. The best way I can describe the play style of junior RB [player_tooltip player_id='1220696' first='Kobe' last='Hendricks'] is powerfully explosive. He doesn't just have elusiveness or agility. He is powerful while doing those things. The way he can cut and accelerate instantly while also ripping through arm tackles is a great example of that ability to play fast and strong simultaneously. The 5'9" 175 lbs athlete can also run right through arm tackles. Just this week alone we see him running downhill and breaking tackles. The vision and instincts he has with the ball in his hands are excellent too. I'm excited to watch more of this offense and Kobe in particular.      Stats: 19/26, 321 Yards, 4 TDs, 13 Carries, 70 Yards, 1 TD   Drew has the Freedom offense and defense rolling into the playoffs looking dangerous. Freedom has dominated on both sides of the ball on a weekly basis, and leading the way is QB/DB Drew Kurtz. Drew is very poised in the pocket. He keeps his eyes downfield and trusts his legs to buy him time when things break down. The senior has a naturally accurate arm too. When he decides to keep it on the ground the senior is even more dangerous. I believe his best fit at the next level is probably safety because of his athleticism and football IQ. Both of which shine when he runs with the ball on offense too. Big things ahead for Drew and Freedom.      Stats: 6 Receptions, 105 Yards, 1 TD, 2 Carries, 29 Yards   The sophomore out of Racine Lutheran is putting together a fantastic year on varsity. He is one of the top producing WRs in the entire state on a week to week basis and his film shows that he is an athlete with big things ahead of him. Bryce has speed to burn and RL does a great job of letting him use it. Whether it be in the deep passing game or getting him handoffs on jet sweeps where he can stretch the defense out. Once he turns upfield with that game breaking speed the defense has to hope they have pursuit already well on the way or Bryce is going to run past them. Bryce is such a gifted, natural playmaker with the physical tools to dominate the HS level and become one of the top recruits in his Class. Get on him early.
