Another nightmare-inducing athlete still alive in the playoffs is our WR1 in WI. Lamont is an absolute game changer. With just a handful of touches or receptions he can change a game. We saw him do it last season on the way to one of the best Championship performances we have ever seen. We have seen it again this entire season. Elite speed, outstanding quick twitch agility, balance, burst, and elite ball skills. With the ball in his hands Lamont has a special knack for finding soft spots or blocks or the right angle to beat defenders and create fireworks.
On top of it the Minnesota Gophers commit also flies around on the backend on defense providing a great last line of defense as a tackler and also making even more plays on the ball. You have to know where this kid on every snap. It is a terrifying matchup for defenses. The senior has 50/840/12 receiving along with 31 tackles, 6 PBUs, and 4 INTs.

When it comes to versatility Lamont is at minimum one of the best in the state. Find a way to get him the ball and Lamont will give you a legitimate chance to add points to the scoreboard. Speed, vision, instincts, playmaking, and elusiveness are all at a D1 level and they shine at WR, as a returner, and as a runner. Lamont is one of the best weapons in the state, and his 2024 State Championship performance confirmed it.

We go from a game-breaking RB to the game-breaking WR that instantly comes to mind when I think about fireworks on the field. Lamont truly epitomizes the idea of this article. He may only get 10 touches a game, but like he did in the State Championship we could see him take over and turn that into 4 TDs. Lamont is a playmaker first and foremost. He is able to read the field so well, making him not only dominant at WR, but also as a kick returner. He can set up blocks, find lanes to cut back through, and set up defenders so that he can beat their angles. Plus he simply has the speed to stack the CB and get vertical then easily track the ball over his shoulder. If you want to see fireworks, get to a Racine St. Catherine’s game this fall.

One of my favorite WRs in the state in St. Cat’s Lamont Hamilton Lamont Hamilton 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Racine St Catherines | 2026 State WI . He finished 2024 as the state’s leader in TDs with 15. A number that he accomplished thanks to an insane 3 TD performance on the biggest stage, Camp Randall Stadium. To go with the TDs, Lamont also put up 30 receptions for 751 yards at a 25 yds/rec average. You will be hard pressed to find a more impressive threat out wide. He has legitimate D1 speed and overall playmaking talents. Lamont can take over a game with 10 touches or less. Not many can do what he can do.

Lamont has a strong argument for best dual sport athlete in the state with what he did on the football field in 2024 and what he is doing on the court this winter. Lamont helped win the D4 State Championship with his 4 TD performance and later earned the WR1 spot in our rankings update for the Class of 2026. He has led St. Catherine’s to a 19-4 record this season on the basketball court and a #6 spot in the D3 rankings.

The new WR1 in the Class of 2026 is an outstanding talent that has D1 traits. Lamont is an unfair, electric playmaker with the football in his hands. The ’26 has speed to rip the top off the defense and easily run underneath the deep shots. Hamilton also plays with elite body control that allows him to stay balanced while making lightning quick cuts and lateral moves that create space from DBs in a hurry. Once the electric playmaker has the ball in his hands he is the hardest athlete to contain that we are going to see on WI HS football fields this fall. He is so elusive, sees the field really well, and has the innate ability to create space when there isn’t any.
While Hamilton has been waiting for that first offer he is spending the winter scoring 30 PPG on the basketball team. The elite all-around athlete deserves what is coming his way.

With all the traits above coming together to make the perfect recruit it seemed like we had everything covered. However, there was one thing we still needed. The raw ability to make plays. To make something out of nothing. To be able to change the game with just a few touches. The best illustration of that talent is 2026 Lamont Hamilton Lamont Hamilton 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Racine St Catherines | 2026 State WI . Lamont can flip the field or reel in the long TD catch. You can have him return kicks. Find a way to get the ball in his hands and great, exciting things happen. That threat to score on any catch/touch is the perfect final addition to our Perfect WR Build.

Stats: 4 Receptions, 155 Yards, 3 TDs
The most dominant performance among all WRs and TEs was the junior WR out of Racine St. Catherine’s. Lamont completely took over the game with his unreal effort. The junior WR proved to be a mismatch while setting D4 State Championship game records in receiving yards and TDs. Lamont is a gifted athlete. He is explosive off the line, quick to eat up cushion and stack his CB, then hits the jets to pull away down the sideline as he easily tracks and runs under the deep ball. All of Lamont’s catches were game changers and the Angels needed every one of them to secure the Championship. Lamont has natural hands and I was impressed with how well he could reel in passes when the defense was there to try and break up passes. The cherry on top of his elite performance is the junior showed off more of that innate playmaking ability with a clutch kickoff return TD that showed off the vision and speed that he plays with once he has the ball in his hands. Lamont is one of the best in the state and proved it in this game.

One of the most electric, explosive, and dominant WRs in WI is junior Lamont Hamilton Lamont Hamilton 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Racine St Catherines | 2026 State WI . Lamont has lightning quick feet and explosive agility that allows him to create space in traffic. Once he creates that space his acceleration and top end speed are a nightmare to contain. You have to swarm him or he will make you pay after the catch. Lamont has elite vision and feel with the ball in his hands and St. Cat’s does a great job of finding ways to get him the ball. They line him up at WR and RB and also have him back as a returner. However they can get him the ball with room to see the field. From there he has that innate playmaking ability to make special things happen.

Lamont was high on my list of WI athletes that I wanted to watch in person sometime over this next year. We were able to make it happen down in Madison. The 6′ 170 lbs incoming junior is an exceptional athlete and has spent the first two years of his HS career dominating on both sides of the ball, so watching him focus on WR at camp was great to see. Coming out of the event it is clear to see why he is not only a good football player, but also a good basketball player. The WR has that quick twitch burst and agility needed to win out wide. He also does a great job of staying under control and balanced while hitting cuts and breaks at nearly top speed. Hamilton flashed in 1 on 1s also. That included a rep where he won with pure speed. He ate up the cushion, stacked the corner, and pulled away as he easily ran under the deep pass. Lamont made a great impression and college coaches need to make sure they have him on their boards.
