Canadians In The USA - Commitment Update

By my count, which continues to grow, there are over 60 Canadians currently playing in the United States at various prep/private schools across the country. Plenty of these prospects hold NCAA offers, and there will be an article on all the prospects with offers who are yet to commit - likely due to their youth or lack of unofficial or official visits to this point in their recruitment, and that will be followed by a bunch of Canadian prospects who are yet to be offered that I like as prospects - but for this article, it will give you a look at the Canadian prospects that currently play in the USA committed to NCAA schools.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Commitments</h2>    Black is one of the premier offensive tackle prospects not just in the northeast and not just from Canada but one of the top prospects in the entire Nation. Black is the leader of this talented group of Canadians taking P4 football by storm in the future and part of it is his unreal measurables combined with his bend and movement skills at the tackle position. Once he hits the Notre Dame meal plan and weight room, he only will continue to add to his frame and get stronger. He is an offensive line coach's dream when it comes to what he brings to the table, which is a simple explanation of why he has offers from nearly every major CFP playoff contender in addition to about 20+ additional FBS schools.     Boucard is among the top Canadian prospects in the 2025 class and the disruptive defensive tackle moved to Miami Central this offseason. Boucard had offers from nearly every major P4 school in the nation, and at 6'3 270, he is a dynamic interior defensive lineman whose athleticism and raw power stand out on film. Originally an Oklahoma commit, Boucard recently decommitted from the Sooners and made his pledge to Lincoln Riley and the Trojans.     Mills-Knight is in a dynamic backfield duo featuring young Canadian David Gabriel Georges at the Baylor School, who has yet to lose a game this year because of the effectiveness of their ground attack. Mille-Knight is a really physical back at 210 pounds and shows real quality burst for a player of his size. Sporting a plethora of major offers, including several in the SEC, Mills-Knight lands with Lane Kiffin's powered Ole Miss offense. Mills-Knight is the only RB commit for the Rebels - a key indicator of their confidence in him as an addition to their RB room.     I am not going to pretend to know a lot about kicking, but Craig seems to be one of the top kickers in the northeast and even in the nation, according to Kohls Kicking, where he is a 5-star kicker and punter. Craig made his pledge to Florida after a summer visit.     Sinkala, another prospect who was forced to move from Clearwater International Academy, ended up at St. Thomas More and committed to the most local P4 school, Boston College. I really like the skillset Sinkala brings to the table he has great ball skills and is especially attacking the ball at the catch point and following through with a violent hand/punch. As an athlete there are no verified speed times but he has super loose hips and quick feet - a great combination at the corner position.     Rowe, one of the top Hybrid SS/LB prospects hailing from Canada, has a loaded offer sheet and made his pledge to ACC school Virginia last spring. Rowe had offers from major schools in nearly every P4 conference and the SAF for the Asheville School.   Rowe has the body type to play in the box and even contribute as a consistent blitzer but he also shows he can be an asset in zone coverage on tape where he can read and react to the quarterback and routes in front of him.     Pahanich, one of New Jersey's top offensive linemen—in a state filled with OL talent—plays at the Hun School. The big OT prospect made his pledge to Wake Forest early in 2024 in February and has been locked in since. Pahanich was originally at St. Andrews in Canada and made the move to the Hun School, where his recruiting took a big jump in the right direction, as he ended up with offers all over the FBS level.     Deslaurier, who is about as built and physically imposing as most college linebackers, if not already bigger and stronger, was a hot name last fall and this spring as multiple SEC and ACC schools were in on the LB from Quebec. Deslaurier pledged to Syracuse over the summer, and the LB prospect is one of the top middle linebackers in the Southeast. Deslaurier has good straight-line closing speed and is a physical, violent tackler.     A dynamic force coming off the Edge for the Baylor School Buffalo Commit, Illunga Bisselele has a very similar playstyle and body type to current UB LB Red Murdock, who has been one of the better defenders in the MAC this season. Illunga-Bisselele shows some change of direction skills, burst and closing speed in space, and the bend to execute a quality speed rush.     A true in-line tight end prospect - Kusch sported several USports offers before making the more to The Hun School where spring ball and their spring workouts in front of college coaches were huge for Kusch's recruitment - the Temple commit is the type of tight end prospect that can provide value on all three downs as a blocker and consistent pass catcher over the middle of the field.     Kubay committed to South Florida over the summer, and the TE prospect was in the midst of a move from Florida to Connecticut as Clearwater International Academy ended its football program. After he announced the move to St. Thomas More, Kubay blew up a little bit as a recruit, fielding tons of G5 offers. The athletic TE prospect, who has great length and a body frame to build on, is one of the top Canadian TE prospects in the 2025 class.     Brosseau, a big defensive end prospect who often plays an EDGE/OLB position for Choate Rosemary Hall, made his pledge to Dartmouth to stay in a similar region to where he played his prep ball in the United States. Brousseau picked up a few FCS offers from schools in the northeast before making his pledge mid-September.     A twitchy athlete from Ontario who picked up multiple FCS offers throughout his time at Choate Rosemary Hall Washington pledged to Richmond in late July. Washington is a two-way athlete who can also have a strong impact on special teams and is the type of athletic prospect who could play a couple of different positions at the next level. His speed stands out on tape, and defensively, he shows some natural instincts and the ability to play fast.     Judge has verified speed as a Sub 10.9 100m runner and that speed he shows on the track also shows up on tape. Judge committed to Brown over the summer after a strong camp performance earned him an offer. Judge is also a two-way player that flashes the athleticism to play at WR or DB at the next level and he is a physical player with the ball in his hands after the catch or making plays on the ball carrier defensively.     Newton who plays at Phillips Exeter Academy will continue at the next level at the academically prestigious and very successful IVY league football program at Harvard. Newton is a quality interior offensive line prospect that uses good bend, snap, and quick hands to win on the interior.     Tyme is another Hun School Canadian and this TE is a really athletic prospect committed to Holy Cross - Tyme is a big time vertical threat from the TE position. He can split out wide and play WR or operate from close to the tackles and create separation over the middle of the field. He will continue to add strength in a college weight room, which will positively impact him as a blocker, but he is a dynamic offensive weapon for the Hun School, and the type of modern TE prospect teams often look for.     Owolabi has been a little under the radar, making a move from Mt. Zion Prep to The Asheville School this offseason, but Owolabi took advantage of one of his first offers, and that was from Dartmouth. Not committed to Dartmouth Owolabi looks to expand on some quality junior tape which you see quickness on the interior and strong physical hands at the point of attack.     Djeumeni Kemeni is a really talented back who gets to run behind a massive Tabor Academy offensive line, but it is his vision and athleticism that shine on tape. The Yale commit runs with a great motor and the classic look with no extra gloves or armbands. I love what he brings to the table as a prospect, he checks the size box, speed is there on tape, and does a great job finding and attacking open space as a runner.     Campbell is a dynamic RB threat who was forced to make a move like many with Clearwater International Academy shutting down the football program and Campbell made a move to a talented Zephyrhills squad. The Bryant commit is a really agile running back who showcases really good patience and vision on tape.     A really well-built interior offensive line prospect, Smith has tape that I really like - he plays with solid pad level and a strong punch, but I like that he maintains and finishes blocks at a high rate. Smith committed over the summer to Fordham, joining their strong class of commits in the northeast. Smith has good film from his first couple of games this season and is one of this class's most experienced linemen.     Shobowale, out of Tabor Academy, is a quality defensive tackle prospect whose move to Tabor Academy benefitted him as a player and in his recruitment - looking back on his tape from Canada, Shobowale had a lot of raw athletic traits on tape and some inconsistency with fundamentals - in his tape at Tabor he plays with much better pad level and is a more controlled explosive athlete around the LOS. Shobowale is committed to playing at Bucknell, and they are getting a quality defensive tackle prospect who has had a lot of growth since coming to play in the US.
