We're not even to the halfway point of September, but some current 8th grade Quarterbacks (Class of 2029) in Georgia, have already opened my eyes. There will be dozens of other QBs added, as more film becomes available and more scouting is done. With that said, I've been tracking talent as I come across it and I feel very confident adding these first 21 signal callers in the class of 2029 (8th grade in the 2024-2025 school year) to the Watchlist.

He's a bigger, thicker Quarterback who passes the eye test right away in comparison to the field. Booker is the straw that stirs the drink for a well-balanced Panthers offense, throwing for four TD passes in three games. With his go-to target [player_tooltip player_id='1431588' first='Makai' last='King'] making plays on the outside and RB [player_tooltip player_id='1431589' first='Ramello' last='Jackson'] running wild, this team looks very good thus far.

Fowler is at the helm for the Colquitt County 8th graders this 2024-2025 season/cycle and has the Packers sitting at 1-1 as of this write up. Following a memorable but tough triple OT loss in their opening game of the season, they righted the ship with a 30-6 win over Thomas County Middle School in week 2.

Watching the film I see a lot of similarities between Fowler and current Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson on the football field. Both are QBs with length that can run if needed, but look to make the pass first. In two games in this early season, Fowler has 4 TD passes.

My biggest takeaway from watching the multi-sport athlete (baseball and track) play Quarterback, is that he can really put some heat on his passes. Without official measurements it's hard to tell, but I think he's closer to the 5-foot-8 mark; That said he puts more zip on the ball than the majority of QBs on this initial list. He's mobility is excellent and he owns the short-to-intermediate passing levels.

As of this write up, Dungan and North Paulding are sitting at 1-2 on the season as they enter a bye week (Sept. 14th). Coming off an ugly loss to powerhouse McEachern (50-8), they have five regular season games remaining

In my opinion, at this point Dungan is a better football player than he is a Quarterback per say. He's got some Tim Tebow to his game in regards to his build/strength and ability to dip a shoulder while running. Furthermore, he's a fast and aggressive Outside Linebacker on defense--where he may ultimately end up playing more.

He's dual-threat Quarterback who keeps defensive coordinators up at night due to his skillset. As a passer he looks like a natural. Very crisp, very smooth and coordinated. No real wasted movement. With his legs, he has the vision and speed of a Running Back. If I'm a defense playing Dacula, I'm resorting to designating a spy on Perry Jr. for every play.

Fresh off a bye week, Rome will hit the road to take on Allatoona.
