QB [player_tooltip player_id='386133' first='Carson' last='Nagle'] - Bald Eagle Area

It was another big day for Nagle as he led Bald Eagle Area to a 39-14 win over Central Cambria. The senior quaterback completed 22-of-33 passing attemtps for 380 yards and three touchdowns. After a quiet first game of the season against Bishop Guilfoyle in week one, it was a strong bounce back performance for Nagle and Bald Eagle Area. Nagle will be a quarterback that I will be pushing to have moved up the rankings over the course of the season if he continues to play at a high level. He's of course coming off a super impressive season last year, completing 71% of his passes for over 3,500 yards and 38 touchdowns.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='671915' first='Arnold' last='Mugerwa'] - Richland

This was my first opportunity to see [player_tooltip player_id='671915' first='Arnold' last='Mugerwa'] live and man was he fun to watch. The Richland standout is every bit of his reported 6-foot-3 frame and is an explosive athlete. He had two receptions in the game for 129 yards including a 96-yard reception for a touchdown. His brother [player_tooltip player_id='920501' first='Jude' last='Mugerwa'], a senior for Richland also had a nice day with two receptions for 56 yards and a score. Mugerwa is one of the better wide receivers in the state and is someone that I will definetely be bringing up in discussions with coaches when given an opportunity.

QB [player_tooltip player_id='1091208' first='Eddie' last='Corkery'] - State College

State College may not be 'Western PA' to some but Corkery had too good of a performance to not talk about. The 6-foot-2 signal caller was 10-of-15 against Altoona, passing for 237 yards and six touchdowns as State College routed Altoona 57-0. Last season, Corkery was solid for the Little Lions, completing 57.0% of his passes for over 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns with seven interceptions but so far this season, the senior has shown he's been taking quality steps forward.

QB [player_tooltip player_id='599217' first='Chase' last='Kissell'] - Bishop Guilfoyle

Very impressive victory for Kissell this past weekend in Bishop Guilfoyle's 30-12 win over Bishop McCort. After a strong performance to open the season against Bald Eagle Area, completing 12-of-15 passing attmepts for 157 yards and two touchdowns, Kissell followed it up by completing 20-of-23 passinga ttempts for 224 yards and an additional pair of touchdowns. He also had 67 rushing yards in the win for the Marauders.

WR Jay Hoenstine - Central

It was an efficient day for Central wide recevier Jay Hoenstine who had eight receptions for 112 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-13 win over Somerset. The 5-foot-10 wide out has emerged early on this season as one of Central's top offensive weapons with 12 receptions for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Watch out for Hoenstine to be a potential late riser in this 2025 class and someone for Divsion II and Division III programs to watch out for. His older brother Jeff Hoenstine signed with Saint Francis as part of the Red Flash's 2024 recruiting class this past offseason.

QB [player_tooltip player_id='706163' first='Aaron' last='Strader Jr.'] / WR [player_tooltip player_id='1338079' first='Lawrence' last='Timmons']- Pine-Richland

In a very impressive 22-17 win for Pine-Richland over Pittsburgh Central Catholic 2027 quarterback Aaron Strader was solid passing for over 200 yards and a touchdown while also pickig up 68 rushing yards and an additional score. Junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1338079' first='Lawrence' last='Timmons'] also had himself a good day against a very good Central Catholic defense with four receptions for 88 yards and one touchdown.

DE [player_tooltip player_id='386102' first='Nate' last='Stohl'] - Upper St. Clair

It's time to show some love on the other side of the ball asnd we head out to Upper St. Clair where defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='386102' first='Nate' last='Stohl'] played a big role in the Panthers 41-6 win over Canon-McMilan with eight tackles which included two sacks.

LB [player_tooltip player_id='952750' first='Landyn' last='Stikkel'] - Penn-Tafford

It was a good day for [player_tooltip player_id='952750' first='Landyn' last='Stikkel'] who helped lead Penn-Tafford's defense to allowing just seven points to Mt. Lebanon. Stikkel led all Penn-Tafford defenders with eight tackles in the game.

QB Jacoby Thompson / WR Tymir Phillips - Meadville

Meadville pulled off an excitign 48-41 win over Connellsville this past wekeend and they were led offensively by quarterback Jacoby Thompson and wide receiver Tymir Phillips. Thompson's passing numbers weren't anything spectacular, completing 9-of-15 attmepts for 137 yards and a touchdown but he also had 19 carries for 133 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Thompson is an intriguing athlete but his size limits him to likely being a tailback or wide reciever at the next level. Wide receiver Tymier Phillips was excellent with seven receptions for 100 yards and a score.

RB DaZarie Carson - Cathedral Prep

This sophomore running back is emerging as a potential name to know out of Erie after making his presence known this past weekend against Sharon. The 5-foot-9 Carson carried teh rock 27 times for 209 yards and three touchdowns in a 33-7 win for Cathedral Prep.
