About Aaron
Expert Analysis
Pat Weider | Prep Redzone Scout
Aaron Strader is a legit quarterback in the 2027 class. He is a good athlete who can move and make plays with his feet. He is also an excellent thrower of the football. Strader recently committed to Kent State. Strader will get a chance to play for a MAC school. Great for him.

Aaron is one of the more poised and confident passers I’ve ever evalauted throughout my time at PRZ.
A quarterback who is going to beat you with his mind and accuracy, often are traits that are glossed over in this new recruiting world that favors size and traits that help kids pass the eye-test. Elite production, a proven winner, a kid who can operate out of multiple sets and environments.
Dual-threat capaibilites are expanding, yet Strader should and will get recruited solely to play the QB position, this isn’t an ATH-first player. Excels when plays breakdown for sure, yet he’s one of the more decisive and trustworthy prospects the state has to offer.
Accuracy to throw kids open, accuracy to hit advanced-level throws (back-shoulder, in-stride nine balls, seam benders, oppo-hash out-routes). If you questioned this kid like I did as an underclassman, fine. After what he’s done this year, and from what I’ve seen this past offseason, I’ve seen enough to rank him as the class’s top QB in the next update.

Watching Oobi Strader, it’s not hard to understand why Pine-Richland has reached two straight WPIAL Championships with him leading the offense. He’s special. Strader looked entirely in command all night, calm in the pocket, confident in his decisions, and comfortable in every situation. He’s an electric runner with elite lateral quickness and sudden burst. Anytime you give him a window, he’ll punish you. Whether it’s a designed run like a power read or a broken play, Strader turns it into a positive gain because of his natural escapability. But what makes him rare is that he’s just as dangerous throwing the football. He’s a legitimate dual threat who can make any throw, inside the hashes, outside the numbers, on the move, or from a set base. The first play from scrimmage set the tone for the night. Strader looked off the safety with his eyes, came back to the middle of the field, and fired a dart to

in stride. That’s advanced field manipulation, something you typically see from college quarterbacks. I’ve seen Strader several times in person, and he never disappoints. In last year’s WPIAL Championship, he threw a perfectly placed over-the-shoulder ball up the seam and commanded the game from start to finish against a tough Peters Township defense. When I saw him again versus Pittsburgh Central Catholic, he was running around and making Power-Five defenders miss in space like it was nothing. Friday night confirmed that he now has both the mechanical polish and the mental command you look for in a next-level QB. He checks every single box, arm strength, accuracy, mobility, toughness, poise, and intelligence. In my opinion, he’s the best quarterback in Western PA, and his résumé backs that up. Yet he’s still sitting with mostly Group of Five offers. Every few cycles, there’s a kid who has all the traits you’d want but gets overlooked because evaluators nitpick the wrong things. If I had any advice for Power Four programs, it’s simple: don’t overthink it. Strader is going to play high-level football somewhere, and whoever lands him will get a steal. Don’t be the school that passed.

Aaron Strader is ranked as the 4th quarterback in the 2027 class, and it is a well-deserved ranking. Strader is a talented quarterback who is good in the pocket but can also make plays with his feet. So, in the last week, his recruitment has heated up with offers from Syracuse and Marshall. It is early in his recruitment, but a good start for Strader.
#AGTG After a great camp and conversation with @CoachTonyGibson and @CoachRSmith1 I’m blessed to receive an offer from Marshall University #WeAreMarshall #75 @Coach_LeDonne @Coach_Bez @csiegle pic.twitter.com/eQyIVvYQjY

Aaron Strader is one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2027 class, who had an outstanding season last year. He is excellent inside the pocket, the way he delivers the football. He also does a nice job when the play breaks down, and he scrambles around to make plays with his feet. I have been surprised that he has not been getting much buzz on the recruiting circuit, but he finally received an offer from Kent State. This is well deserved, and I expect his recruitment should pick up soon.

Aaron Strader has had a great season for Pine-Richland. The quarterback is a dynamic runner. Either in designed run game or when the play breaks down. Either Strader is special running with the ball. Then, as a thrower of the football, he does an excellent job. He sets his feet well and throws an excellent ball. Since Pine-Richland is the top seed they have played at a high level. I expect Strader will continue to lead this team.

Aaron Strader continues to play at a high level for Pine-Richland. He is a special athlete who happens to play quarterback as well. He is a top player that an old coach told me you can’t tackle the kid in a phone booth. When a tackler is one-on-one with him Strader makes that player miss constantly. Now, he is not just a dynamic athlete, but he is also a quarterback who can throw the ball. He has a strong arm and is constantly showing it off on different deep balls. He is also getting better at reading the defense and finding the open receiver. Strader is the type of kid I bank on, as he is a great athlete who continues to get better.
