He is good running between the tackles. He also shows good burst and quickness. Heckert is a good player in the 2028 class.

Heckerts lightning in a bottle, quick and explosive Heckert plays with a presence like he plays with his hair on fire, at LB Heckert can run off the edge and disrupt the pocket while being a stud in the run game. At RB, he plays with veteran vision, finding holes and squeezing through tight gaps while playing at full tempo. Heckert will be a key player this season.

He is also excellent as an edge defender by attacking the offense. He explodes off the ball and does a good job making plays in or near the line of scrimmage. Then, as an off-ball linebacker, he does a good job of reading and reacting to the play and attacking the offense. He is excellent at tackling, especially in the open field. Heckert should improve and even be better next season.
