A Look At Impact Freshman Players

There have been several young freshmen who have been impact players on their respective teams early in their high school careers so far. We will look at five names that have a chance to become well-known names across the state of North Carolina over the next few years!    Offers from Florida State, North Carolina, and NC State let you know how talented this young man is already! Braylon has displayed excellent speed, strong hands, and good route running so far in his first few varsity football games. An excellent main target for his talented quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='989278' first='Khalel' last='Wright'], Braylon has 11 catches for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns already, his team's #1 receiver. Country Day has gotten off to a 3-1 start, heading into a big game against nationally recognized Providence Day.     The talented running back already holds an offer from Charlotte, even before he took a varsity snap! Ennis has already scored his first varsity touchdown, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. His balance and vision on inside run plays are impressive. I also like that Ennis is already showing strength on his runs and running through weak tackle attempts on the 1st and 2nd levels of the defense. Ennis has a bright future in a strong JM Robinson football program.     Cory has excellent size and has been receiving Varsity reps already in the Panthers' defense. Cory currently holds an offer from the University of South Carolina. When you take a look at his athleticism, Cory moves well for a freshman prospect with his size, showing fluidity and good form. I like that Cory can use a rip move through an offensive lineman's shoulder to pressure the quarterback, as well as use his hands to disengage blocks to disrupt the offensive line scheme as a whole.     In his first varsity football start last week, Draeton broke a school record for passing yardage. Draeton threw for 450 yards and five touchdowns in a 44-17 win over North Davidson. He hooked up with talented teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1148569' first='Ethan' last='Driver'] for 268 of those yards. Looking at some film, Draeton showed excellent balance and timing on a variety of throws - a deep post, a go route, a zig route in the red zone, and a quick screen specifically. I don't remember having seen a freshman ever have a stronger debut in their high school career - he will be a player we keep on our radars!     The things you love about Brayden are his size and his work ethic, first and foremost. At 6'1 and 200 pounds, Brayden is already built to be a contributor early in his career for a good Metrolina program. Brayden works just about as hard as any young player I've seen at his craft as well. As a prospect, Brayden does a good job of holding the edge and making tackles in space against ball carriers. Brayden can also further develop and has shown the ability to play an off-ball linebacker position as well.
