It was a tough decision deciding who was #1 on this list, so I really just let it come down to college offers plus pure talent, and with Ennis dominating on both sides of the ball, that won it for me. Even as he split carries with a talented senior last season, Ennis was able to make a strong impact in the running game. Ennis’s power and speed combination, along with his vision, was very impressive to watch. But, adding onto that with what he did at the linebacker spot made that even more impressive. An All-Conference player last season, Ennis currently has offers from Virginia Tech, Old Dominion, Troy, Charlotte, East Carolina, and Duke.

Ennis shared time with his teammate, LJ Watson LJ Watson 5'7" | 165 lbs | RB JM Robinson | 2026 State NC , in the backfield and showed very well in his own right. On 10 carries, Ennis totaled 88 yards and a touchdown run, and he was very quick and elusive with the football in his hands. Ennis showed why he has multiple early offers as a Class of 2028 prospect. Ennis also played some linebacker on defense and totaled 8 tackles on that side of the ball, tying for the team lead. I spoke with Ennis after the game.

Our top-ranked running back in the 2028 class, Stiles ran for nearly 900 yards as a freshman. He’s shifty in the open field and displayed a great amount of power as a freshman. Obviously, his size is ideal for not just a freshman, but for a prospect in general and his upside is enormous, as he’s already a patient and intelligent runner.

Ennis had an impressive freshman season, busting out on the scene and rushing for nearly 1000 yards in a time split with another talented running back in our local rankings here. Ennis has picked up early offers already from multiple Division 1 college football programs including the previous staff at Charlotte, East Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Troy. Ennis has the speed/power combination you like in a good-sized back physically. He will have many more big games in the Concord area over the next 3 years.

Ennis came on the scene strong as a major piece of the Bulldogs’ offense this past season. On the season, Ennis rushed for 834 yards and 6 touchdowns, nearly rushing for 8 yards per carry. Ennis received a good bit of work in the playoffs for the Bulldogs as well – that kind of trust in a freshman is rare to see. Ennis runs with good speed and power balance and has excellent vision. From a recruiting perspective, Ennis has already received offers from Charlotte, East Carolina, and Virginia Tech. Expect those offers to continue to come as Ennis starts getting to some camps and shows what he can do in person.

The young standout freshman carried the load in the running game after an injury happened to starting running back LJ Watson LJ Watson 5'7" | 165 lbs | RB JM Robinson | 2026 State NC . Ennis rushed 21 times for 130 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs victory. The most impressive thing is the vision that Ennis has, it is well beyond the standard for a freshman player in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Ennis also has a nice burst through the hole and gets north/south very well.

The talented running back already holds an offer from Charlotte, even before he took a varsity snap! Ennis has already scored his first varsity touchdown, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. His balance and vision on inside run plays are impressive. I also like that Ennis is already showing strength on his runs and running through weak tackle attempts on the 1st and 2nd levels of the defense. Ennis has a bright future in a strong JM Robinson football program.
