Cumberland Gap: (RB/LB) [player_tooltip player_id='842806' first='Allen' last='Brooks']

Eagleton Academy: (QB) Nathan Clemmer

Hampton: N/a

Happy Valley: (QB/S) Blake Garmon

South Greene: ‘26 (RB/S) Nash Rader

West Greene: (RB/DB) Austin Franklin

- A multi-year starter for his Panthers team, Brooks is the clear cut top guy that will be expected to produce at a high level at both running back and linebacker. Eagleton Academy is a new program that is still gaining traction but could contend for a region title this year and that's due to having Clemmer at the helm. With a big senior year, Clemmer could play his way into a college scholarship. Would have loved to put a prospect from Hampton in here but they don't update their rosters.

Happy Valley could be looking for new standout starters this year and Garmon appears at the top of the list. He looks to be handling the QB position for his Warriors team. The Rebels have a few options for team MVP but Rader is someone that I feel will take on a bigger role this year and shine at the team's top back. West Greene looks to be in transition this year with new players needing to step up. Franklin sits at the top as someone that could develop into their top player.

2A-Region 2 Team MVP's

Bledsoe Co.: (RB) Caymen Siever

Oneida: ‘26 (LB) Ben Gilbert

Polk Co.: (QB/LB) Cade Brewer

Tellico Plains: (DB/WR) Bradyn Enterline

Wartburg Central: (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1124542' first='Landon' last='Quinney']

York Institute: (RB/S) Lake Drake

- Returning as the Warriors top back, Siever has an outside shot at contending for Mr. Football this year but he and his team must perform at a high level for that to happen. The Indians are a little young this year where they will be leaning on new starters. One guy to watch out for as a high contributor is Gilbert, who should be taking snaps on both sides of the ball. It could be a transitional year for Polk Co. but Brewer has a chance to change the narrative this Fall with a highly productive season.

Enterline will need to be that “dude” for his Tellico team that has a great shot at getting that 4th spot and the playoffs. One of the top returning production based receivers in this state is Quinney but can he put up another strong season with a new quarterback. Playing within a run based offense, Drake has a chance to produce in a big way this Fall while leading his team back into postseason play.

2A-Region 3 Team MVP's

East Robertson: (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='497421' first='Isaiah' last='Groves']

Jackson Co.: ‘26 (Ath) [player_tooltip player_id='1148636' first='Isaiah' last='Thomas']

Monterey: (RB/LB) Kole Bowman

Smith Co.: (Ath) Wyatt Claywell

Trousdale Co.: (RB) Clay Sanders

Westmoreland: (Ath) Cooper White

- The reigning Mr. Football winner from last Fall returns for his senior season, looking to repeat that honor while leading his Indians team towards a 2A state championship. Groves is an elite level talent that many defenders won't be able to deal with this season, so I'm expecting another big year out of this future Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket. Jackson Co. looks to be behind the eight ball this year within a strong region, so players like Thomas will need to step up and produce. There has been a “Bowman” running the ball for Monterey over several years now with this one looking to be the Cats top offensive threat this season.

Looking over some pre-season action, it looks like Smith Co. could be in a transitional year. There will be a lot of new players in starting roles this year, so seniors like Claywell will need to produce. Much of the above can apply to Trousdale Co. as well as the Yellow Jackets appear to be implementing some youthful starters into the lineup. Sanders is one senior that can pick up the slack and turn himself into the team's top rusher. The Eagles might be the surprise team in this region with White as its star player. His abilities on both sides of the ball will be important towards Westmoreland competing for a playoff spot.

2A-Region 4 Team MVP's

Cannon Co.: (RB/LB) [player_tooltip player_id='390619' first='Zae' last='Odom']

Cascade: (WR/S) Christian Casey

Fayetteville: (QB) Samuel Willoughby

Forrest: ‘26 (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='244591' first='Eli' last='Bell']

Marion Co.: (WR/DB) [player_tooltip player_id='390722' first='Sam' last='Pickett III']

- Odom has been learning on the job for the better part of two years now and this season he should be “the guy” on the Lions ball club. His importance on both sides of the ball is critical and if he performs well, his Lions team may find several victories. Cascade looks to be at the bottom of this region but could move up with strong play from Casey. One of the more athletic playmakers from the 2A ranks is Willoughby, who should be in contention this year for Mr. Football. This 6'6 lefty quarterback has a big opportunity in front of him to boost his stock in a significant way with development in his passing.

Keep an eye out this Fall for Bell and his ability to hit the big play. Elusive, fast and shifty, Bell is an athletic, dynamic ball carrier that can take his recruiting stock to another level this year. Pickett is a top contender for Mr. Football in 2A this year but also one of the better overall players on this level. His presence on his Warriors team will be important and go a long way towards the Warriors competing for a state title.
