* Committed to Ole Miss *

- The Rebels dipped back into the Volunteer State to land another quarterback for their 2027 recruiting class with this Mid-Tennessee signal caller that brings intelligence and passing upside to the playing field. Early on in the process, Ole Miss was a team that Jenkins had his eyes on early and when it came time, he chose the Rebels over many other strong suitors, including offers from Charlotte, Fla Atlantic, Memphis, Tulsa and others. Competition is key these days on the college level, so Jenkins will come into Oxford not viewed as an immediate starter but definitely someone that will compete and possibly earn playing time down the road. The Eagles senior could also boost his stock significantly with a strong senior year that puts him in contention for Mr. Football while leading his team to a hopeful state title.

Talent Acquisition: What the Rebels are getting with Jenkins is a cerebral signal caller that does all the little things right while displaying excellent leadership qualities. This guy is a clean passer with smooth mechanics and enough arm power to make all the proper throws. He is also a deceptive athlete that does good work outside the pocket while providing the ability to run it when needed. Ranked as our 7th best quarterback in the state, Jenkins does have some limits with his size, which may keep him behind others while in Oxford but he is a high intelligence football player that could find himself in a starting role down the road with continued development. I like what Jenkins brings to the locker room and the playing field as someone that will make his teammates better while displaying starter qualities and traits.

* Committed to Vanderbilt *

- One of the best offensive tackle prospects within our TN2027 class took himself off the board by recently pledging his services to Vanderbilt University. This Chattanooga area big man chose the Commodores over Cincinnati and Duke as well as many other Power Four opportunities. The Seahawks big man has steadily gotten better and bigger over the past two years where now Burger is well equipped to come into Nashville and compete to be on the “2-deep” almost immediately. His size and upside points towards Burger being a swing guy that could handle the left side but definitely become a starter at right tackle down the line. Burger is currently our 22nd overall ranked prospect and 5th offensive lineman but I can easily see him boost his stock into a “Top 20” guy by the end of the season with a dominating Fall football year.

Talent Acquisition: There is a lot of upside with Burger as I think he could eventually become an All-Conference type of guy at Vanderbilt with a possibility of playing on the NFL playing stage one day. He has that kind of athleticism and overall size you find on the pro level but Burger is still a work in progress that must continue developing his body and his craft. The Seahawks senior is a good athlete with a wide base that moves his feet well to keep in front of his opponent while having the power to knock him off the ball. He has the power and size to move people in the run game while sporting excellent pass blocking upside. This guy is a high character, hard worker as well that will do the things necessary to get better and potentially carve out a starting role at Vanderbilt. This was a good pickup by the Dores as Burger presents some of the best O-line upside inside our TN2027 recruiting class.

* Committed to Duke *

- A multi-year starter on the Lions offensive line, Smith picked up a recent offer from Duke and it didn't take long for this Mid-Tennessee product to pounce on it by pledging his allegiance to the Blue Devils. Smith obtained more than 20 offers throughout this process but once Duke got involved, he saw the fit and opportunity to be too good to pass up on. The Lions senior O-lineman fits the profile well for Duke as a high academic young man that provides the upside to develop well as an eventual interior starter. There is enough potential with Smith to possibly see other Power Four programs get involved late into the process as long as this future college center continues to develop at a proper rate but I like the fit so much with Duke that I believe he will stick with the Blue Devils and potentially become their starting center somewhere down the road.

Talent Acquisition: As things sit right now, Smith is one of the top center prospects we have within our TN2027 class. He has multiple years of starting experience with the Lions, which I think will help him once he arrives in Durham, North Carolina. This guy is a good athlete and technician that moves his lower half very well while sporting enough strength to stack blockers. He shows clean snaps on film along with interior versatility. I do believe his future in college is at the center position but if needed, Smith could be plugged in at guard when called upon. The Lions senior is not a finished product as he must get much bigger and gain more mass to physically hold up playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. He has the frame and work ethic to accomplish that. I do like the upside here with Smith and his chances at getting on the “2 deep” and eventually competing for that starting center role with the Blue Devils.

* Committed to Navy *

- Just recently committing to the Naval Academy, Ashmore is a versatile piece up front that could provide a lot of value during his time with the Midshipmen. The Patriots senior big man chose Navy over Air Force, Army, Bowling Green, Kennesaw St. and many other FCS level offers. I like the fit between Ashmore and the Midshipmen. His game style and athleticism could work very well on the Navy O-line as their staff could use Ashmore in a variety of ways. Last year as a junior, Ashmore had a strong debut season as a full time starter and he is returning this Fall as the Patriots top O-lineman. He handles the tackle position for his squad but in college, I expect Ashmore to fully transition into the interior. Though I expect Ashmore to remain strong with his Navy commitment, he is a talented young man that still has levels to go in his game, so I wouldn't be surprised if more and potentially bigger programs come after him before signing day.

Talent Acquisition: This is a sneaky good pickup by the Midshipmen that I believe can pay off big down the road. If Ashmore was a few inches taller, he would be a bonafide Power Four prospect but he is a great prospect for Navy, who can develop him in the proper way and turn Ashmore into an eventual starter. The Pats senior is a good athlete that bends and gets off the snap well, showing active feet and the ability to stay in front of his opponent. He is a tenacious blocker as well that will fight till the whistle and provide that certain toughness up front that is needed. Being that he is committed to Navy, I could see Ashmore playing tackle for them but if I'm looking past college and into the NFL, this 6 '3 O-lineman fits best on the inside at a center or guard. Ashmore is a definite stock riser to watch this Fall that I think can play his way into being a “Top 100” Prep Redzone Tennessee ranked prospect.

* Committed to Alabama *

- It was a recruiting battle to land this Mid-Tennessee product but in the end, Alabama won out over Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Tennessee. It was a somewhat surprising commitment being that Simon is a Tennessee legacy but he wants to lead his own path and his plan is to do so in Tuscaloosa. Ranked as a “Top 20” overall prospect, Simon is one of the top linebacker prospects coming out of the Volunteer State this cycle that brings a versatile skill set to the defensive side of the ball along with a lot of upside to become an impactful starter down the road for Alabama. This is a good pickup by the Crimson Tide with a prospect that might have a future beyond the college game. I do think they will have to hang on tight to Simon as I expect Tennessee and several to continue pursuing him throughout the coming months.

Talent Acquisition: There is a reason why Simon is ranked so high with us and that's because of his upside on the college playing stage and potentially beyond. This is an athletic defender that has a history at safety, so Simon knows how to cover and play in space. He is also a hard hitter that plays with controlled violence, which is a factor in him developing at linebacker in college. His playing style, his instincts and body frame points towards Simon being an excellent second level defender that you can work inside or play off the edge. I do see the Eagles linebacker working his way up the depth chart sooner than later at Alabama but it may be a few years down the road as Simon needs to continue getting bigger and stronger while filling out his frame much further. Once he does that, watch out because Simon has all the makings of a potential All-Conference performer.

* Committed to Clemson *

- Chandler is a fun player to scout because he is a good dude off the field that presents a lot of talent and upside on the field. He recently took himself off the recruiting board with his commitment to Clemson and the Tigers are getting a multi-versed defender that should transition fully from safety to linebacker during his time in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Chandler ultimately chose Clemson over offers from Miami, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and many others. I really like this pickup by the Tigers as Chandler can do a variety of things on the defensive side of the ball, including play in coverage due to his experience competing in the secondary. He is still far from a finished product as well, so I believe Chandler's best football is ahead of him. Clemson may have landed themselves not just a future starter here but someone with All-Conference caliber abilities.

Talent Acquisition: As it was mentioned above, Chandler has spent most of his high school career at safety but his build and overall skill set works in college best at linebacker. The Red Devils senior stands roughly 6'3 215 pounds with room to add more weight. Chandler is a natural athlete that runs very well, showing a great first step and initial burst along with outstanding range. He is also a hard hitter as well and with these traits together, it screams linebacker to me. What I also like about this Knoxville based prospect is his character. Chandler is a high quality young man with a strong work ethic and someone you don't have to worry about getting in trouble. All in all, this was an excellent pickup by Clemson with a prospect that brings a lot of impact and value to the football field and inside the locker room.

* Committed to Kentucky *

- A two-way prospect for his Westview football team, Brown is headed to college to play defensive back and he has the talent to eventually become a starting cover corner guy during his time at Kentucky. The Chargers senior athlete chose the Wildcats over offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt along with many other strong suitors. Brown gets to remain in “blue” during his college days with Kentucky where he has a chance to develop on the island as a potential starting cornerback. This guy is a winner as well that is coming off helping his Westview team achieve a state title and he could go back to back this Fall with a lot of strong pieces returning. Kentucky is getting a long term, potential big pay off prospect here with Brown that not only provides upside at cornerback but someone that could play anywhere in the secondary while also contributing on special teams as well.

Talent Acquisition: Ranked as our 29th overall prospect and 2nd defensive back, I see a lot of potential with this West Tennessee talent and his future at cornerback. Brown has nice size (6'0 190) with good arm length and the speed to keep on path with opposing receivers. He does a nice job of bending and staying low while moving his feet to keep up with the receiver then use his ball skills to make plays on the ball. He is willing to tackle and play physically as well. There is a lot to like about Brown and his ability to lock down one side of the field for the Wildcats. If cover corner doesn't work out, I believe Brown could develop nicely at safety, maybe even nickelback. More work is needed with his overall game while continuing to form his body but I think Brown has a lot of tools needed to excel in the Southeastern Conference.

- One of the most improved prospects in the state and a fast riser on the recruiting trail is this Nashville area two-way talent that recently gave his commitment to Tennessee. Leavell chose the Vols over Clemson, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Ole Miss and many power offers. By all accounts, it appears that Leavell is headed to Knoxville as a defensive back and that's where I am leaning with my scouting as well, though I can see where some college programs liked the Cougars senior at receiver as well. This guy is tall and long with a wide radius that has vastly improved his speed and explosive game play. That explosiveness I think would work well at safety where Leavell can use his height and length to become an outstanding ball hawk. I am sure Tennessee has a plan for the Cougars athlete and I like his upside to become a playmaker in their secondary that might be able to see the field early in his career.

Talent Acquisition: The Vols are getting a potential long term, big payoff prospect here with Leavell that I feel is still coming into his own with his best football days potentially ahead of him. The Cougars senior is a natural athlete with good physical tools and the speed to make a difference on the back end of the secondary. He sports a quick first step then turns on the burners to close fast and make plays on the ball. Leavell displays good instincts and reactions with the ball in the air. There are a lot of traits with Leavell that speak of being a ball hawk during his time at Tennessee. While the athletic tools are in place, Leavell does need time to continue getting bigger and stronger while filling his frame. He also would need to continue learning how to play in the defensive backfield, especially doing so in the Southeastern Conference. I do like the long term upside here with Leavell and what he can bring down the road for the Volunteers.
