There is a lot to get excited about in North Jersey when it comes to the receivers. Very similar to the running backs, a lot of the public school talent moved on to schools like Bergen Catholic, DePaul, Don Bosco, etc. However, plenty more talent is still available and deserve eyes in 2024. These are some of the player than may not be getting recognition now but will receive plenty more by season's end.

I truly believe [player_tooltip player_id='402217' first='Jasiah' last='Brown'] is not only one of the most underrated receivers in the state, but one of the top overall prospect as well. Currently ranked as the #17 receiver in the 2026 class and also on the NJ Watchlist, Jasiah has made a lasting impression through his play on the field and his showings throughout the offseason. Jasiah may be one of north Jersey's best kept secrets, as he has not garnished the interest he deserves. However, by season's end I think Jasiah will climb up in the rankings and be looked at as a D1 prospect.

I got the chance to see Jasiah perform at the NYNJ Combine back in May. Straight up, Jasiah was the best all around receivers that afternoon. He not only had the fastest 40 time of the event, but showed he has exceptional route running skills and a true understanding for the game. Jasiah is that spark of energy that every offense hopes to have on the field. He can turn a quick dump off pass into a huge gain through his elusive running style as well as acceleration out of a cut. Head over to Jasiah's X if you want to see what he was able to do in 2023.

Few freshman ever get to see the field at the varsity level, but that's exactly what [player_tooltip player_id='1026003' first='Dishon' last='Jerman'] did in 2023. Tall for an underclassman, Dishon is one of those receivers you can trust in throwing it up to and he can high point the ball and come down with it cleanly. Dishon has longer legs and a reach that will be tough to guard against, making him a back corner specialist for years to come. Dishon has much more growing to do, so I would not be the least bit surprised if he came into the 2024 season looking like a new athlete.

Dishon's number is going to be called often next season. He has a great ability to come down with the ball in traffic, and can reel the ball in from afar with concentration and strong hands. Dishon can make those critical catches when they are needed the most. To go with his hand skills, Dishon has a burst of speed that's displayed in his route running. He can take off out of his break and hopefully catch the defender off guard to make an uncontested catch downfield.

Coming into his senior season, [player_tooltip player_id='1281512' first='Andrew' last='Herre'] will look to make his presence felt to gain more recognition from collegiate programs. Putting up 5 touchdowns with only 17 opportunities, Andrew is that player that needs to be fed the ball much more in 2024.

Andrew is built much differently than other receivers in the state. A stout presence lined up outside, Andrew looks more like a tight end with his height (6'2") and size (190lb+). Par Hills QB can have full confidence in Andrew when throwing it up his direction. His larger frame allows him to box out the DB and fight for the ball. Another receiver that can catch the ball away from his body, Andrew's big hands secure the catch even when a defender is ripping at them. I foresee Andrew getting the chance to play at the next level as a tight end or H-back.

Seton Hall Prep has added another weapon to their arsenal. After scoring two touchdowns as a freshman for Millburn, Denzin is on his way to Seton Hall Prep to compete with the best of them in the state. Denzin is ahead of his class when it comes to skill and size. Standing at 6'4", Denzin is already towering over every DB he will go up against. There is a lot of potential brewing here, and I expect Denzin to stand out as one of the top receiving targets in the NJ 2027 class by season's end. You don't typically find taller receivers to be as explosive as Denzin is. However, he has shown that he is quick on his feet and can trip up defenders at the line. He is a clean route runner as well, chopping down in his break to give himself separation from the DB and an easy throw for the QB. I can only assume that going up against Seton Hall Prep's DBs this offseason has prepped Denzin in a big way for 2024.

Catching a staggering 11 touchdowns and 730 yards in 2023, [player_tooltip player_id='796165' first='Terrell' last='Wilfong'] is on his way to becoming a household name within the state. With a lot of experience gained over the past few seasons, Terrell is ready to separate himself as one of the best in the state in 2024. Not only is Terrell built with all of the characteristics you'd wish for in a WR1 at the high school level, but I think he has the potential to be dangerous once he gets to the next level. Not only is he a terror to DBs downfield, but extremely shifty when running shorter routes. Terrell has track speed on top of the size most receiver's can only dream of. Terrell can quickly change to a second gear when he turns upfield and leave defenders in the dust. A Syracuse commit, Terrell is ready to help rebuild the Orange and bring them back to national prominence. Terrell is the full package, and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if other programs try to pry Terrell away from Syracuse.

Another 2025 prospect that has one more year to show his worth to college programs, [player_tooltip player_id='1001393' first='PJ' last='Coffey'] is a player that could go onto the next level on either side of the ball. As a receiver, PJ is lightning in a bottle when he has the ball in his hands. PJ is a dangerous slot receiver that runs silky smooth routes through the middle of the field. Finding the open space in the coverage, PJ illuminates as a reliable target to the feed the ball to. If a DB is lined up close with PJ, you can be sure PJ will give him a run for his money. With quick footwork and fluid hip movement PJ can shake a defender off of his route, giving the QB a window to throw into. Once PJ brings in the ball, he is off to the races. PJ is another one of those receiver's that has a second gear that defenders are rarely prepared for.
