Another 2025 prospect that has one more year to show his worth to college programs, PJ Coffey PJ Coffey 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Butler | 2025 State NJ is a player that could go onto the next level on either side of the ball. As a receiver, PJ is lightning in a bottle when he has the ball in his hands. PJ is a dangerous slot receiver that runs silky smooth routes through the middle of the field. Finding the open space in the coverage, PJ illuminates as a reliable target to the feed the ball to. If a DB is lined up close with PJ, you can be sure PJ will give him a run for his money. With quick footwork and fluid hip movement PJ can shake a defender off of his route, giving the QB a window to throw into. Once PJ brings in the ball, he is off to the races. PJ is another one of those receiver’s that has a second gear that defenders are rarely prepared for.

Recognized on the offensive side of ball, Butler’s PJ Coffey PJ Coffey 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Butler | 2025 State NJ is not only a weapon as a receiver on offense but a lockdown corner as well. A quick twitch defender, PJ can break on the ball and beat the receiver to it play after play. Energetic and fired out of a cannon, I am thoroughly impressed with PJ’s ability to whip his hips and change directions to stay locked in on the wideout. His ability to sniff out a play and bring it to a stop before it can get started also stands out as one of his greatest attributes. There are few players in the division that can have as big of an impact on the game as PJ.

I love when kickers get in the mix at other positions on the field too. This was the case for Coffey, the junior wide receiver and kicker for Butler. He was a perfect 8 for 8 in PAT attempts this weekend at St. Mary’s in Rutherford, making him 16 for 17 on the season. This game also saw him haul in 3 receptions for 100 yards and a TD score, making him accountable for 14 total points scored in the 56-23 road win.
