is on his way to becoming a household name within the state. With a lot of experience gained over the past few seasons, Terrell is ready to separate himself as one of the best in the state in 2024. Not only is Terrell built with all of the characteristics you’d wish for in a WR1 at the high school level, but I think he has the potential to be dangerous once he gets to the next level. Not only is he a terror to DBs downfield, but extremely shifty when running shorter routes. Terrell has track speed on top of the size most receiver’s can only dream of. Terrell can quickly change to a second gear when he turns upfield and leave defenders in the dust. A Syracuse commit, Terrell is ready to help rebuild the Orange and bring them back to national prominence. Terrell is the full package, and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if other programs try to pry Terrell away from Syracuse.

In the footsteps of Makhi Green (Monmouth) and Saboor Karriem (Illinois), Wilfong is joining the “FRANchise25” and heading up to Syracuse, who recently has cleaned up recruiting the Garden State under new head coach, a Jersey Guy, Fran Brown.

. Last fall the 6’4″ receiver hauled in 38 catches for 730 yards and 11 scores. Given his height he better learn how to high point the ball… and he has. Moreover, he has seemingly mastered this and is starting to apply that skill in traffic and when doubled as well. A subtle thing I noticed, and I truly appreciate – is that Wilfong will protect the ball close and tight to his chest when defenders get anywhere close to him. He typically wins with his release and runs decent routes; however, I believe he creates space and separation largely because of his blessed frame. Relatedly, Wilfong manages to avoid and resists pushing off to create that extra bit of space. Two final things I enjoy about Wilfong’s game are his unselfish nature when blocking and his route tree. Most receivers I watch film on, for whatever reason, only show fades/verts. Wilfong is the exception to that. We see nearly a full gamut of routes ran by this prospect, including verts/fades, drags, hitches, curls, posts, and flags. He also takes his run blocking serious. In his second clip of his highlight tape we witness Wilfong wait-and-bait on a bubble screen, opening up an unimpeded alley and decleating his assignment in the process. Also another rarity, Wilfong showed a clip of himself winning a block for his fellow receiver downfield that sprung a big play. With the glows many, a grow for Wilfong is to extend his arms and actively attack the ball when it is thrown his way. Doing so will prepare him for the next level as much of his competition in high school will not have the reach to play his hands and break up the pass attempt.

Terrell’s ability to create yards after the catch, make contested catches, and serve as a downfield threat contributes to his recognition. Awarded the “Most Upside” superlative, Terrell has the potential to become the best wide receiver in the state. To fully realize this potential, he is encouraged to focus on adding more size and strength to withstand physical play at the next level and improve his route running. By all indications the recent legacy of top wide receivers from West Orange is going to continue with Wilfong. At 6’4″, Wilfong was for sure one of the tallest targets in attendance – and that was not all he brought to the table. He ran precise routes, which allowed him to move efficiently and create space from the defender. Given his size, he appears a bit lanky, which manifested in Wilfong showcasing his extended catch radius on balls behind, above, and in front of him. Finally, all this was matched with his soft hands, as I did not record any drops against him on the afternoon.

. A mountain of a man, this West Orange Mountaineer is 6’5″ 180lb. In addition to handling punting duties, Wilfong plays WR and DB.
Wilfong has a few advantages as a punter. First, he is so tall that it is unlikely any puts go over his head. Additionally, because he plays receiver he has soft hands and is equally unlikely to mishandle a snap. Long strides allow him to take just two steps before getting the ball away. This helps limit the returning team’s rush. With all his leg in it, his best kick was about 50 yards with about 5 seconds hang time.
With former teammate Saboor Kerriem off to Illinois this fall, I expect Wilfong to take up the timeshare at WR vacated by Kerriem’s graduation this fall.
