I am highly excited to watch Lou over these next few years! Now, it's extremely unlikely we'll see Lou during Friday Nights this season. Though, this is Muskegon's assumed starter in at least 2026. During his 8th grade season, Lou served as a great pro-style QB (highlights below).

The aspects I like most about Lou's current game are his arm talent and his throw on the run. Neither are the best I've ever seen from an incoming freshman, but both aspects are way ahead of the curve. 0:35 in his 8th-grade highlights showcases these abilities well. There's no doubt that Lou needs to improve significantly before he succeeds at the Varsity level, but i am supremely confident that we'll see Lou leading the Big Reds through the MHSAA postseason one day.

Out of all of the unranked QBs, Ryan may have the best arm.

I can base most of my observations on Ryan's 8th-grade highlight tape. Although it is quite short, it shows enough for me to get a good idea of his current skill set. Right now, I'd describe Ryan as a great improviser who also has good arm talent. Most of Ryan's best highlights have him scrambling outside the pocket before delivering a strike to a downfield receiver. Those strikes are all fairly accurate, and all have good power behind them. I'm also extremely accurate that Ryan has improved since last fall, as he has plenty of offseason film on twitter. It may be a while before Ryan is QB1 for St. Mary's, but I'm confident he'll perform well once he earns his Varsity spot!

Dexter has been on the up and up for a few years now, and now that I know Gavin is an incoming freshman, I'm confident Dexter will remain a contender for years to come.

Like most other 2028 prospects, most of my evaluations come from Twitter/X. On Twitter, Gavin has several promising clips from his training sessions. All in all, I really like Gavin's current arm talent and accuracy. Gavin seems more accurate than the vast majority of freshman QBs, and his overall fundamentals are refined for his age. His footwork and throwing motion need some tweaks, but I'm confident that Gavin will become more consistent in both areas.

I'm very excited to see Gavin's tape at the end of this season, and he has a solid shot at becoming RANKED by December!

Trey is a completely new name to me, and I'm excited to watch his tape throughout this season.

Skimming his highlights, it's apparent that Trey has a big arm and way better accuracy than most 2028 QBs. In short, Trey has a great foundation of his overall accuracy and throw power, and he can hit receivers just about anywhere on the field- even if he's outside of the pocket. That said, Trey has great athleticism and can deal real damage with his legs. There are several instances on tape where Trey earns an explosive play on the ground, and I LOVE to see that with any Quarterback. This is a QB who can truly let it rip and he found great success at the middle school level. Moving forward, I'd love to see Trey continue to work on his footwork and throwing motion.

I like Nehemiah's 7on7 highlights (shown below) quite a bit. Yes, 7on7 doesn't show the full story, but it does provide a very clear picture of Nehemiah's game with zero pressure involved. Standing in the pocket, Nehemiah has excellent throw power and consistently delivers extremely accurate balls to all parts of the field. The play at 0:40 shows good timing with impeccable accuracy, while the play at 1:05 shows an amazing deep ball compared to other 2028 prospects. I will say, Nehmiah's footwork can be very inconsistent, even in a 7on7 setting. He also had a few instances where he ran outside of the pocket during the 7on7, which is someone I have frankly never seen. Still, Nehemiah is one of the more polished QBs in this class, and I'm curious if he'll get his shot right away!

Preston is looking like he'll be a phenomenal player for Woodhaven. He's a rare 2028 prospect with a good amount of film, both on Hudl and Twitter.

His tape from last fall shows great abilities for a middle schooler. While I don't love his arm talent or his throwing motion, Preston seems to play confidently and consistently. Namely, Preston is able to fit the ball into some tight windows, and he's able to put quite a bit of juice behind every throw. I think that Preston just needs a year or two of High School experience before he's a great Varsity QB. I can't wait to see what he'll accomplish this season!
