Ferris State Football is arguably the #1 D2 program in the nation. Storied Head Coach Tony Annese always recruits Michigan incredibly well, and it oftentimes leads to National Champion contending teams. So far, Ferris has five class of 2025 commits that are in our rankings. Ferris will undoubtedly bring in dozens of additional in-state and out-of-state recruits over the coming months, but for now, here are my thoughts on all of their in-state commitments so far!

I'm extremely hyped for AJ to hit the field at Ferris State. Out of all of the GLIAC commits, AJ may be the one that I'm most confident in. Hence the #34 ranking; I strongly believe that AJ is a D1 guy.

AJ is currently utilized as a great receiving back. Get AJ the ball in the open field, and he'll surgically navigate through the defense for an explosive play. In the backfield, AJ is also a great elusive back who can do damage between the tackles. However, in college, I think AJ will be best utilized as a return man and as a primary receiving running back. This coming season, AJ should have another phenomenal season, and I think he could be an early contributor once he gets to Ferris.

[player_tooltip player_id='322137' first='Michael' last='Reder'] seems to be a great fit for Ferris State. Playing for Saline, Michael has been a very consistent, productive player for a few seasons now. Better yet, he's a two-way player.

I'd expect Michael to settle in as a defensive tackle in college, but he is a great high school guard. At guard, I'm impressed with how quick Michael moves. While pulling, Michael explodes out of his stance and does a phenomenal job at finding someone to lay out. Michael has the size to play guard at Ferris, but I think his skill is a bit better as a defensive tackle.

Speaking of his work at defensive tackle- Michael is as aggressive as they come. In nearly every highlight, Michael works relentlessly to shed his block and make the tackle. Michael consistently explodes out of his stance, delivers a good pop, and has a great motor. In college, I'd like to see improvements with his overall rush. He could be more consistent with both power and finesse moves, but his size combined with the demonstrated effort makes me very optimistic.

Avery is such an incredible fit with Ferris State. Although he's from a lesser-known school, Avery cuts through the noise and straight-up produces during the season. On tape, Avery is an incredibly strong offensive lineman. Time after time, Avery engages with a defender and bench-presses him into the grass. I absolutely love his mentality and effort- that will go a LONG way once he gets to Ferris State.

Although Avery is a super high-effort player, he does need to work on his all-around fundamentals. I have no doubt that he's more polished after this offseason, but I still expect Avery to sit for a few seasons before producing in college. All in all, I love what Avery offers, and he has the size + upside to develop into a truly special college athlete.

I couldn't think of a better home for Jordan than Ferris State. Over the past couple of years, Jordan has been a solid quarterback. Recently, Jordan has improved several areas of his game. For one, he's improved his IQ and off-schedule playmaking ability. He's always been a playmaker, but last year, he took way better care of the ball while completing more passes. It's also notable that Jordan has a great arm and can sling it on the run. Jordan also as the athleticism to be a true dual-threat in college. Outside of the pocket, Jordan is always a threat to take off.

Jordan still needs to work on his consistency, but his talent and upside are extremely apparent. I'd imagine he'll be an impact player for Ferris as long as he shows up and focuses on his development.

Great linebackers are few and far between. In a world where everyone is trying to be a running back, quarterback, receiver, or EDGE rusher, great Linebackers are getting increasingly rare.

Last year, Matthew served as a great off-ball linebacker. Specifically, he did his best work while blitzing. While blitzing, Matthew plays with incredibly high effort and focus. Even if he's blitzing from the opposite side of the play, Matthew is able to pursue the ballcarrier and still make the tackle. In other instances, Matthew defends the screen and outside run very well, also giving me confidence in his athleticism and sideline-to-sideline abilities. Considering his size and current skillset, Matthew has all the tools needed to be a phenomenal linebacker on a DII State Championship team.
