Great linebackers are few and far between. In a world where everyone is trying to be a running back, quarterback, receiver, or EDGE rusher, great Linebackers are getting increasingly rare.

Last year, Matthew served as a great off-ball linebacker. Specifically, he did his best work while blitzing. While blitzing, Matthew plays with incredibly high effort and focus. Even if he’s blitzing from the opposite side of the play, Matthew is able to pursue the ballcarrier and still make the tackle. In other instances, Matthew defends the screen and outside run very well, also giving me confidence in his athleticism and sideline-to-sideline abilities. Considering his size and current skillset, Matthew has all the tools needed to be a phenomenal linebacker on a DII State Championship team.
