It hasn't been long since we released the initial Nebraska 2027 rankings and watchlist, so there wasn't a massive amount of movement this time.

At this stage in a prospect's career, it is still difficult to gauge their talent as many are spread across varsity, JV, and freshman levels of play and varying sample sizes for playing time. As a result, player projections still play a solid role when evaluating prospects. Varsity playing time is another big factor that is taken into consideration.

Omaha Central ATH [player_tooltip player_id='422820' first='Tory' last='Pittman III'] maintained his hold on the top spot. He has had a solid summer competing in football and track. Tory is one of four sophomore prospects to hold a Power 4 offer and is the only one to hold more than one, with bids from Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Southern California. Expect Pittman to be a focal point in the Eagle's secondary and to see an expanded role on offense this season.

Omaha Westside QB [player_tooltip player_id='487734' first='Braylen' last='Warren'] stayed at the #2 spot. He has also had a very busy summer with several opportunities to show off his elite arm talent. Braylen is gearing up for a big season as he looks to take the reins to the Warrior offense as they march towards a possible three-peat. On top of being the presumed starter for the Warriors, Braylen is already starting to emerge as a name to watch in the recruiting world with an early camp offer from Iowa State.

The biggest shake-up to the list came as Millard West monster OL [player_tooltip player_id='1085067' first='Matt' last='Erickson'] made the jump up to the top 5, landing at the #4 spot. Matt is another player who has used this summer to raise his recruiting profile as he earned an offer from Nebraska. The 6'8" prospect is primed to be a key blocker on the Wildcats offense this season. Expect more looks his way.

The other two in the top five are Omaha Central bruising RB [player_tooltip player_id='212374' first='Kylonn' last='Haynie'] (#3) and Blair mauler [player_tooltip player_id='720313' first='Ty' last='Tessendorf'] (#5).

New members to the rankings list include Lincoln Southwest LB [player_tooltip player_id='720132' first='Evan' last='Robinson'] (#23), Minden OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1085641' first='Evan' last='Lutkmeier'] (#25), Grand Island LB [player_tooltip player_id='720359' first='Ryan' last='Boehle'] (#26), Bellevue West WR [player_tooltip player_id='1192595' first='Grant' last='Jones'] (#29), and Norris K [player_tooltip player_id='1085202' first='Evan' last='Greenfield'] (#30).

Our Class of 2027 list of prospects features 300 players in our rankings and watchlist from all over the state and in all classifications.

This is just a reminder to players who did not make the rankings or did not agree with their rankings: Nothing is set in stone at this point in your prep careers. The rankings will change several times from now until the end of the year, allowing for several opportunities to make your presence known.

As the season approaches, I am positive that we will see several new names come out of the woodwork. The most important thing to do if you would like to see yourself on one of our lists is to have game tape available. As the season progresses, players should look to publish game tape at least every 3 weeks (weekly is perfectly fine, too) and definitely a season reel once their season has concluded. This ensures that we will get to you during our evaluation process, and most importantly, COLLEGE COACHES will be able to see them as well, which is the main objective here. We will have an update at the end of the season (maybe a mid-season update??), so if you are not listed now, there is plenty of time to get on here this winter. We WILL be watching!
