Which peach-state quarterbacks are bound for big seasons next fall?

[player_tooltip player_id='1085681' first='Elliott' last='Sturbaum'] - McIntosh

One of the more underrated quarterbacks south of Atlanta, Sturbaum is a Peachtree City native coming off a strong 2023 season where he threw for 2,582 yards and 20 touchdowns. The rising senior throws a good-looking ball and consistently hits his receivers in stride down the field. He loves to push the ball down the field, and as he continues to develop his arm strength, this promising gunsligner could light up the stat sheet more and more as a senior in 2024. An accurate passer, Sturbaum completed 65% of his passes last year and should see that number increase next fall. The potential is easy to see due to his balanced footwork, good feel for the pocket, and the ability to make plays outside of the pocket and throw on the run. He's one of the top junior quarterbacks in the area and bound for a giant senior season later this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='681162' first='Deron' last='Benson'] - Newton

An under the radar quarterback who will open plenty of eyes this fall as a junior, Bensons is an athletic quarterback with promising arm talent. He does a good job of standing firm in the pocket and delivering a catchable ball down the field. He's still developing as a passer and his arm will be strong next year, giving him an opportunity to see some possible Power Four interest and possible offers to come his way down the road. As a sophomore last fall, Benson threw for 1,842 yards and 22 touchdown passes while completing 64% of his passes. The talent and potential is easy to see, and there's a chance he takes a big step forward next year as a junior. He's mobile, can read defenses, and showed impressive ball placement last year when throwing down the field. He's coming off a strong spring game for the Rams where he went 17/21 for 268 passing yards and three touchdown passes. He's a quarterback on the rise to know about during the 2024 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1640653' first='Jamar' last='Malone'] - Gainesville

A new quarterback to know about in Georgia for the 2024 season, Malone played in Alabama last year but will now take his talent and big arm to Gainesville. The Red Elephants are loaded with talent, and now they have Malone, a bigger quarterback who runs well at 6-foot-3 205-pounds. He's still developing as a quarterback, but the natural arm talent is easy to notice. He can sling it down the field, but can still work on some fundamentals and overall accuracy. Now that he's at Gainesville, learning from one of the best staffs across the state, Malone has a chance to shine as a senior this fall with weapons all around him. He's hard to bring to the ground, can throw on the run, and has the ability to launch the ball down the field. He's bound for a massive senior season and already holds several Power Four offers. Look for Malone to help the Red Elephants push for a passive state championship in 2024.
