Earlier today, I had the opportunity to visit Waldo Stadium to evaluate dozens of prospects attending Western Michigan's first prospect camp of the season. It was a great camp, with prospects from all around the country in attendance. Out of the 80+ campers in attendance, a few were able to cut through the noise and stand out. Here are my notes and evaluations from the camp!

Tyler was far and away my #1 Quarterback at this camp. I spent a bit of time watching every single quarterback, and nobody threw it nearly as well as Tyler did. To start, he throws the ball with tremendous velocity + a tight spiral. He was asked to throw just about every route in the route tree, and he tossed dimes in practically every situation. Plus, if he missed, he usually overthrew or threw in front of the receiver. Two things I think Tyler still needs to work on are his timing and footwork. Still, it was a phenomenal performance, and I'm very excited to watch him further at the Eastern Michigan camp on Tuesday. He's already been offered by Western Michigan and I'd expect more MAC programs to follow suit.

Chase impressed me and several non-WMU college coaches in attendance. He passes the eye test, and his testing numbers weren't bad either. During drills, I noted that he had some of the fastest feet of all the RBs. Chase continued to impress with his explosiveness and change of direction. Namely, I watched several great 1on1 reps where he was able to sidestep or easily explode and outrun most linebackers. Great day for Chase, and he should earn some opportunities soon.

'25 DB | Dallas Woodson | Snider (IN) | @allstar_woodson

Dallas was the best of the DBs that I watched closely. First off, the DBs were put through the wringer during this camp. It was a long, competition-filled camp with a very small DB group. I watched a lot of DBs lose steam toward the end, but Dallas looked 100% throughout it all. In addition, he had stellar reaction time, hips, eyes, and he even came down with at least one interception that I saw. Now, I would have liked to see slightly better 40 and 3-cone times from Dallas, but his broad jump was quite good. My gut tells me that he isn't quite a D1 guy, but I could easily see Dallas receiving D2 offers.

Probably the biggest surprise from the entire camp. I had no idea who Xavier was heading in, and I'm shocked to find out he resides in Lansing. He's an all-around great receiver who has a high-tier Division 2 floor. I really like his release, ball tracking, and contested catch ability. He knows how to control his body, and he used his long arms to make difficult catches. In terms of testing, Xavier had one of the highest verticals in the camp. Aside from that, he was above-average across the board but didn't test as well as some of my favorite receivers in Michigan. I'm not sure if Xavier holds any offers yet, but I'm now fairly confident GLIAC teams would love him and he has a chance at the MAC if he keeps improving.
