Coming in as the 25th ranked player in the state and Long Island's top 2025 prospect is [player_tooltip player_id='648867' first='Lorenzo' last='Riddick']. The measurables for Riddick stick out immediately at 6'3 and 215 pounds. He was an excellent edge rusher for a terrific LuHi defense. Riddick recorded 9 sacks during his 9 game junior season. He is very quick and has a ton of potential at the next level. Riddick collected FBS offers from Duke and Army after his great junior season. He has followed it up with an outstanding summer so far. In just this month alone, he's been offered by Maine, Stony Brook, UMass and Fordham

No surprise here, as [player_tooltip player_id='505522' first='Joseph' last='Filardi'] was ranked as the 4th quarterback in the state and the Island's second overall prospect. Filardi will be playing football and lacrosse at Syracuse which is an incredible achievement to say the least. He's coming off a memorable junior season after recording well over 3,000 yards passing and also eclipsing 1,000 yards rushing. He is a favorite for the Hansen Award (given to Suffolk County's top football player) for his senior year. Filardi came off an incredible lacrosse season, as his overall athleticism is up there with almost any prospect on Long Island.

After a solid season on varsity, Gibbs followed it up with a great track season and started to get noticed by some college coaches. He officially committed to Syracuse earlier this year and the Orange have a tremendous athlete to work with. Gibbs is one of the fastest prospects in the entire state. His “Track Speed” is evident on tape, as he can break away from defenses and hit those home run kinds of plays to change a game. He'll most likely play defensive back at the next level and be a great addition for Syracuse's secondary in the future.

The number 2 quarterback on Long Island and the 5th in the state is the West Babylon native. Outlaw was one of the most entertaining players last year. And he did it in a difficult Suffolk County Division 2 against some great defenses. He had 16 touchdowns through the air and added 16 more on the ground. He's the ultimate playmaker and helped his team exceed expectations last year. He will be the top overall player in all of Conference Two on Long Island.

The 2025 WR class is loaded on Long Island with FCS-caliber players and high-level D2, and D3 guys. A lot of them come directly after the top 70 but the one receiver to crack this list was [player_tooltip player_id='505384' first='Jayden' last='Simpson']. The Holy Trinity product was just at OT7, where he had a highlight reel play that was all over social media. Simpson, known for his speed, caught a deep ball over two defenders for a long touchdown. His explosiveness and yards-after-catch ability separate him as the top WR prospect on Long Island and he comes in as the 7th-ranked receiver in the state.

The brother of [player_tooltip player_id='648867' first='Lorenzo' last='Riddick'] was named the defensive player of the year for a very talented Crusaders defense. He was the team leader in tackles and anchored this unit from the safety position. He's arguably the top defensive back on Long Island and he comes in as the 5th ranked DB prospect in New York. He was always around the ball and made so many amazing plays during his junior season. He picked up an offer from Army earlier this year and just received an offer from Fordham last week.

A truly incredible junior campaign for [player_tooltip player_id='1205418' first='Gary' last='Merrill']. The UNC lacrosse commit burst out onto the football scene last fall. He threw for over 2,000 yards and ran for over 1,000 yards in the AAA division with St Anthony's. He's one of the best pure athletes in the state and he made so many entertaining plays during his first varsity season. He can play division one football, look out for him to be one of the top playmakers in the state this year for a great St Anthony's program.

The defensive line class is loaded in New York, so Matthews comes in ranked at 14 but the number 62 overall prospect in the state. He makes a serious case to be the top lineman on Long Island and he is having a special offseason so far. He was named the most outstanding lineman at the Rising Stars Bowl. He had 4 sacks and was borderline unblockable in 1v1 situations. He proved to be too much once again at the Downstate Classic with another great showing. Matthews isn't the tallest lineman, but he's one of the most impactful with his strength and quickness. He's someone to watch if you love mean defensive lineman.

To round out the top 70 players is [player_tooltip player_id='514951' first='Lucas' last='Catoggio'] from Chaminade. The big lineman is headed into year number 3 as a starter on the Flyers offensive line. And Catoggio has been a reliable player, to say the least, he will be the anchor up front for a Flyers offense with the capability to make noise this season. Catoggio is a very powerful offensive lineman with quick feet, look out for him to be one of the top players in the NYCHSFL AAA division this season.
