We kicked off our month of ranking updates last week with a look at the 2027 class as they head into their sophomore seasons this fall. Last week, it was time to look at the 2026 class. On Monday, our 2025 rankings were updated to include the Top 200 players in the upcoming senior class. You can check out the updated rankings right here.
Washington tight end [player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] has had a stranglehold on the number one spot in the state's 2025 class and he isn't letting go of it anytime soon. This offseason, Roberts announced his commitment to Ohio State and continues to look like a prospect that is primed for big things on Saturdays and possibly beyond. Roberts has definitely become a cheat-code at the Oklahoma 2A football level. There isn't much that many 2A programs can do to limit what impact Roberts is able to have on the field. He has size, unbelievable hands and playmaking ability. Throw in the fact that he's also played some of his best football in the biggest games and you have a player that's primed for big things.

Carl Albert standout [player_tooltip player_id='598824' first='Trystan' last='Haynes'] is going to come into this season as one of the very best football players in Oklahoma. He's been a consensus top five overall prospect for a while but when you look at the impact he has on the field, it's unbelievable. He was Carl Albert's leading receiver on offense, a lockdown corner on defense and one of the top returners in the state on special teams. For this ranking update, we've finally moved Haynes from the "athlete" designation to defensive back as the defensive side of the ball is where he's destined to be at the next level. But before he heads to Oklahoma to play defense, he has one more season where he'll look to tear it up in all three phases.

Checotah wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='353415' first='Elijah' last='Thomas'] jumps into the top five as an overall prospect and there are few guys that we saw multiple times this offseason that impressed us more than Thomas. Talking with another media member about Thomas, the word "mutant" got thrown out there and it kinda fits the Checotah star. Thomas is so dangerous with the football in his hands and he has the ability to catch almost everything thrown his way. He dominated at the Under Armour camp in Dallas, winning rep after rep against quality defensive backs. He checks almost every box when you're talking about the top talent at the wide receiver position and he'll be a big name to watch this season with Checotah.

There are a few very intriguing prospects to watch within the state's top ten and there might not be another one more intriguing than [player_tooltip player_id='347111' first='Jaden' last='Nickens'] at Douglass. The Nickens story from this offseason has been told a few times and only time will tell on what he does this fall and where he ends up at the next level. But talking about his play on the field alone, he's one of the very best in Oklahoma. Every time he gets the ball in his hands, you end up holding your breath because he does something special with it and makes it look easy. Nickens is also a star on the basketball floor and perhaps he has a chance to play college basketball. There is no doubt that he's one of the best athletes in Oklahoma.

Weatherford standout [player_tooltip player_id='353421' first='CJ' last='Nickson'] is another very intriguing prospect in the state's 2025 class. First off, similar to Nickens, he's a terrific basketball prospect and could end up at the next level on the hardwood. But Nickson has also emerged in the last 18 months as one of the state's top football prospects. He is very fun to watch on both sides of the ball. In the recent weeks, Nickson has announced that his college decision is coming soon and he's down to the two in-state programs Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Basketball will also play a role in that decision but Nickson is definitely one of the top football prospects in this state with the athleticism and versatility he brings.

Elgin offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='629029' first='Antoni' last='Kade Ogumoro'] might have been the biggest "mover" this offseason as player movement has become very prevalent in Oklahoma. But Ogumoro landed in Elgin from North Carolina as a military kid. Ogumoro immediately became one of the state's top guys at his position and in the class overall. Earlier this offseason, Ogumoro announced his commitment to Tennessee and shortly after that, we got our first chance to see him in person. He moved into Oklahoma this offseason and he's going to move a lot of bodies this fall. He's a dominating left tackle and the left side of the Elgin offensive line might feature the best 1-2 punch in Oklahoma.

Wagoner standout [player_tooltip player_id='294262' first='Alex' last='Shieldnight'] is another prospect in this 2025 class that has had a stranglehold on the top spot for his position. It hasn't mattered if it was at linebacker or defensive line, Shieldnight has been one of the top guys in the state for a long time now. He emerged early on in his career and has rewritten the record books at Wagoner. One thing that really separates Shieldnight from other guys in the state is his unwavering desire to get better. Shieldnight is always working at his craft and that also includes what he does on offense. His future is on defense but he still puts plenty of time in on the offensive side of the ball. He is always working to get better and improve.

Pauls Valley running back [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] is on a mission to finish off his career with that #1 next to his name at the running back position. It wasn't easy for Knighten last fall after he missed almost all of his junior season with an injury. This offseason, Knighten moved to Pauls Valley and will have a fresh start, along with a chance to contend for a state championship. Also in this offseason, Knighten would get back to 100 percent and looked like the player that became an All State football standout as a sophomore. When we saw him at team camp in May, he was arguably the best athlete on the field. He's a special talent and ready to finish off his career with even more accolades.

Muskogee quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] was one of the best football players in the state last season when he led the Roughers to a state championship. And when it comes to Ficklin as a prospect, we've heard it all with him. College coaches might not want to take a chance on a lefty. Those coaches are making a mistake. Ficklin has gone from a very good athlete with a high ceiling to the state's best quarterback with the highest ceiling. We watched the Muskogee standout in person countless times over the last three years and what he does in the backfield is special. He's earned this spot and there's a college program out there that's getting an absolute steal with Ficklin.

Pocola standout [player_tooltip player_id='382643' first='Dakotah' last='Terrell'] is the newest member of the top ten in the state's 2025 class. He's been a prospect to watch for a while now but this offseason has been a wild one for the small school standout. Terrell went from being an intriguing prospect to a guy that had offers rolling in from the reigning national champion and other top college football programs. It felt like in the span of just a few weeks earlier this year, Terrell emerged as one of the state's top football prospects. We mentioned this on social media but we'll say it again here. Terrell feels like a unicorn of a prospect. You watch him on film and it doesn't seem real. But the attention, offers and intrigue is all very real.
