Not just the top quarterback for the in-state #TN2025 class but MacIntyre is the top overall ranked prospect by Prep Redzone Tennessee. Sporting great mechanics and size, the Eagles senior signal caller has all the tools to develop into a multi year starter in college while also having the upside to take his game into the pro ranks as well. His next level journey will begin at Tennessee, where MacIntyre committed to months ago and has been strong with the Vols ever since. The Eagles senior passer will be looking to end his high school career on a strong note, especially after a rough junior campaign. He has a strong returning cast to work with this Fall and if MacIntyre and his team have a better year, his stock could rise even more into possibly “the” top overall prospect in the country.

A strong armed passer with tremendous upside, Surber claims the number two spot inside our quarterback rankings but must continue developing as several others are hot on his trail. The Rebels senior leader took his McKenzie team to the Class 1A title game last year and with the returning cast he has to work with, Surber has a great shot at returning to the championship match this Fall and coming away with the “Gold Ball”. He has the mental makeup and physical abilities to get there as Surber has a big arm that can make all the throws as well as tuck it and run if needed. College programs are quite interested too and I think others will get involved after they work with Surber this summer in camps as well as watch his progression this coming Fall season.

This Memphis area passer was very close to being ranked 2nd in this state for his quarterback position as Hughes brings a lot of talent and upside to the playing field that translates well to the college game. The immediate trait that stands out when watching Hughes is his arm talent and his ability to place the ball wherever he wants to on the field. He has a certain moxy about himself that I like and the ability to beat a defense in multiple ways with both his arm and his legs. The Owls senior passer brings a nice mix of arm talent and mental toughness to his position that college coaches will enjoy working with and developing and I feel Hughes is just creeping into his potential, so watch out!

Placing himself inside the Top Five of our current quarterback rankings, Shaffer sits under the radar as we head into the summer camp season but the talent is there to see his recruiting and overall stock rise over the coming months. What Shaffer has going for him the most is his physical look and ability to make all the throws. The Mustangs senior passer shows excellent arm power as well as the zip to get the ball into small creases. Shaffer is a good athlete too that handles the pocket well, being able to maneuver away from oncoming rushers. The offers haven't arrived as of now but that may change after Shaffer finally takes the reins over at quarterback this Fall and leads his Mustangs team to a possible big 2024 year.

Coming in ranked 5th among the quarterbacks, Travers is one guy on this list that could push himself into the Top Four while competing for D1 opportunities. The Golden Bears senior signal caller has the size and arm power to compete on the next level but could raise his stock even further with continued development with his footwork and mechanics. If you're looking for a quarterback that throws with power and zip, Travers is your guy! It will be interesting to see how he progresses this off-season and into his senior year because this 6 '5 passer can not only boost his own stock but also place his Golden Bears team in contention for a Class 5A state title.

Sitting just outside the top five, Neal is a precision passer that returns for the Fall season as one of the top passers in the state based on production and a veteran guy that has multiple years under his belt as a starter. His game fits well on the college level as well. Neal is a cerebral guy that understands what he is doing on the field while sporting strong leadership abilities. He is a bit undersized but more than makes up for it with his arm strength, poise and fearless attitude. I like this East Tennessee talent and what he can bring to the college game. His senior season will go a long way towards possibly rising up in our next updated rankings while also boosting his recruiting stock.

This is the best prospect to come out of the young West Ridge program to this point and a player that is still far from a finished product but sports tremendous upside. Frazier is an athletic signal caller that has great size and a big arm that is still being finely tuned. He is a true dual threat quarterback that can beat a defense in a variety of ways. Frazier is also a tough competitor that takes on contact well and keeps moving forward. His work over these off-season months with his accuracy and timing will go a long way towards pushing his stock to another level while helping take his Wolves team to a possible region title and a hopeful long playoff run.

If this Nashville area quarterback played on a bigger level, you would be hearing more about Carey and his upside for the college level. Sporting good size and throwing mechanics, the Wildcats senior passer has excellent film, showing the ability to make all the throws while having enough athleticism to play outside the pocket. Carey does a good job of maneuvering the pocket while keeping his eyes down field. He shows a cerebral style of play that I feel translates well along with some grit and toughness. I like this prospect and what he can bring to a college locker room. He will need another big year this Fall to push his recruiting stock forward but Carey has the chops to certainly do so.

Many across the state and Southern region may not know too much about this Memphis area quarterback but several should after this coming Fall football season. Standing 6 '4 200 pounds, Troutman immediately looks the part when stepping onto the field but he also has a big arm and excellent mechanics that fit well inside the college game. He has yet to be the starter for his Dragons team, so that's why buzz isn't strong with this guy but trust me, Troutman can spin it! I expect this West Tennessee talent to become one of the top breakout stars of the Fall season and boost his recruitment tremendously.

The final ranked quarterback inside our Top Ten, Evitts is a multi talented prospect that has several strong physical traits that translate well to college but is still far from a finished product. This Chattanooga area signal caller has the size (6'3 195) and arm talent to develop into a possible starter on the next level with continued work, especially with his footwork and release. Evitts is a good athlete that handles the pocket well, whether that's eluding pressure or pulling it down and running. He shows a good feel for the game when things go off-script but if he can stay balanced within the script, Evitts may see his game go to another level. His Summer and Fall work will go a long way towards seeing where he lands on the collegiate gridiron.
