Returning Tackler on (4) 6A Power Houses

<p>The 6A Class is loaded this Fall. Anyone of about 15 teams could end up taking home the trophy in the Benz in December. Before are the returning tackler for 4 of the programs that have a shot at winning the 2024 Championship.</p>   <p><strong>Khalil Mollay</strong> (Valdosta)</p>   <p>Big expectations for the '25 5'9 165 DB as the Wildcats graduate most of their defensive production from 2023. Mollay had an impressive stat sheet last season. He totaled 36 TT, which placed him 6th on the team, with 5 TFL, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions. Don't let the size fool you, this guy is physical and can bring it. Good speed off the edge and has the strength to move bigger blockers to the side. Good instincts for the ball and has no trouble covering taller WR's. The 6'3 220, 4-Star, University of Alabama commit will be back for his Senior year. Metz was 2nd on the team last season with 51 TT with 5 TFL, 5 sacks and an interception. Metz has great instincts and an explosive 1st step when blitzing. Very physical LB who is very agile for his size. He had over 34 D1 offers before committing to the new staff in Tuscaloosa. The 6'0 200 rising Sophomore had 78 TT with 7 TFL. He also added 3 sacks with 3 forced fumble and intercepted a pass. Great instincts and play reading ability that always seems to be in the right spot. Has the ability to drop back in coverage. Athletic guy that is only going to get better over the next 3 seasons. His recruiting blew up this off season, pulling down offers from just about every National powerhouse in the country. Prep Redzone has him rated as the #33 overall player in the 2027 class and the #4 LB. The 5'8 180 rising Senior Blue Devil got it done in 2023. He was selected 1st All Region LB totaling 94 TT with 18 TFL, 3 sacks and a fumble recovery. Has great instincts and seems to have a 6th sense for finding the football. Has quick reaction time and outstanding technical tackler. Has totaled 34 TFL over the last 2 seasons playing in Georgia's highest classification. Made a leap into the Prep RedZone Top 200 coming in at #166 which was one of the highest jumps this offseason.
