It is time! Camp season is here! Winona State, Northern Illinois, and Lindenwood have kicked off the season along with a few others. Plus teams like the Badgers are hosting their first Official Visit weekend of the offseason. To go along with that, we have also seen 15 athletes from the Class of 2205 coming out of Wisconsin announce their commitments already. So who are the best available and what do they have to offer the next level? I'm here to help with that. Let's dive in!

The #1 uncommitted player in Wisconsin is Verona's CB/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='382410' first='Tre' last='Poteat']. Tre also holds the spot of the best defender in Wisconsin. The CB is spending the weekend on an OV with the Wisconsin Badgers, who are one of the many Power Four programs after his talents. While watching the tape it quickly becomes apparent how far above the competition Tre is both physically and mentally. The mental side of the game is where I love his game most. Poteat reads the field and understands what is going on quicker than everyone else. That gives him the ability to be a step ahead a lot of the time. Then you give that star athlete who is a step ahead the best athletic profile on the field and you get someone who is simply unfair. Tre has exceptional agility, change of direction, and burst to be able to play press coverage at the next level and his ball skills are top of the line too. If you haven't watched his film then I highly recommend you change that.

Next up is the always improving OT out of Kettle Moraine. Brayden has made huge strides over the past year or two in his body and the nuanced parts of the OT position. The 6'8" 320 lbs athlete has a massive 84" wingspan that makes him even more of a nightmare to get around for pass rushers. Brayden definitely has the talent to stay out at OT at the next level. He plays with excellent knee bend and ankle mobility that allows him to play low and change direction efficiently while mirroring pass rushers. Brayden has devastating hand strength that can punch an opponent to the ground or easily steer them anywhere he wants them. In the run game the big man shows impressive range to get across him man's face to cut them off and get between the defender and the ball. Dive into the tape if you're a team looking to add to the OT position.

The best skill position player you are going to find on the open market in WI is [player_tooltip player_id='385215' first='Trent' last='Oiler']. He offers a rare mismatch in the passing game that a college OC is going to love. Trent can really run in the open field. The highlights show him crossing the field and pulling away from DBs. He attacks the ball in the air with strong hands, uses that size to shield out DBs, and the balance is there to be able to run effective routes with speed. The size, speed, strength mismatch is a special prospect at the TE position. He has several Power Four OVs set over the coming weeks.

Another OL prospect that has FBS talent is Bay Port's [player_tooltip player_id='685974' first='Alex' last='Warden']. Alex will need time to fill out that impressive 6'5" 245 lbs frame, but the once he does the sky is the limit. Alex is able to do so many of the things that the top OL can do. We see explosive burst out of his stance in the run game. That burst creates power on contact and he easily drives defenders off the line and buries them with aggression. Alex brings excellent range to the field too. He can easily pull across the formation and lead up to the second level or dominate an edge defender with a kick out block. Alex also has the lower body flexibility to always be the lower man and have leverage on his side to easily overpower opponents. Don't miss out on this high end OL talent.

Kevin is fresh off his first D1 offer and deserves more eyes on him this summer. Kevin has the size at 6'5" 280 lbs needed to play at a high level. He isn't just a big body though. You can trust him as a 5 tech or wide to be able to set a strong edge or bull rush an OT into the lap of the QB. He has surprising body control and lateral movement to make him hard to stick a block on him squarely. The talented DL is getting better and better, so get eyes on him during camps this summer to get the most updated look at him. Kevin's best football is ahead of him.

The best available LB in Wisconsin is the Fond du Lac standout, [player_tooltip player_id='944035' first='Rhett' last='Hlavacka']. Rhett definitely looks the part of an FBS LB with his 6'4" 240 lbs frame lining up at ILB or OLB. Rhett has dominant instincts that helped him pile up 110 tackles as a junior. His feel for the flow of the OL in the run game allows him the ability to quickly react and fly through his gap on the way to the ball. You see him able to cut laterally last second on his blitzes, making him a nightmare to try and block at the speed he is coming through with. Speed that allows him to roam sideline to sideline. Rhett is perfect for this age of football. You can ask him to fill the run on early downs and then use his range and agility to cover a middle zone on third downs. Give the tape a look. You will not be disappointed.

The best available QB is the Catholic Memorial dual threat stud. MJ piled up 40 total TDs in 2023 with an impressive display of arm talent and athleticism. MJ's arm checks the boxes of a D1 caliber signal caller. He easily can let it rip and push the ball 50 yards downfield with a tight spiral coming out of a smooth and quick release. MJ is poised in the pocket because he trusts his OL and his legs to buy him time if needed. Mitchell also shows the much needed ability to pinpoint exactly where he wants the ball and then place it there. When it all breaks down, or when it is designed for him, MJ can break a defense with his legs. The top end speed is there that can carry to the next level, and his elusiveness increases that threat on the ground. Check him out!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9hqSkwxtag

The best WR available in WI is the Mt. The 5'11" 185 lbs WR is a jacked up prospect who will be able to handle the physicality that some CBs bring to the field. Kiel is also one of the best at tracking the ball and finding a way to go get it. Even at 5'11" you will see in his highlights that he has great leaping ability to highpoint the football. His hands are strong to rip the ball into his body through contact or a sea of hands. The balance and power in his route running allows him to create separation CBs very early in the route. Kiel has the suddenness to play in the slot and the strength to play out wide.
