This may be cheating because Rhett is signed with Minnesota as a DE/LB and at his size I expect to see him at DE more than not. However, we saw Rhett plenty at LB in his career at Fond du Lac and that is how we have him ranked. With that said, Rhett’s 6’4″ 240 lbs frame is as elite as they come for LB frames. Size and length are off the charts and perfect for us when trying to build the Perfect LB Recruit. Size like this paired with the traits coming up, you can bet we will have the perfect LB when we are all said and done.

I was lucky enough to see this Summer Camp SZN success story live and in person, as I was fortunate enough to see Fond du Lac’s Rhett Hlavacka at the Minnesota Golden Gophers first prospect camp of the summer back in early June. Hlavacka was unmissable in an already physically impressive LB group working out in Dinkytown. His hard work and long afternoons in the weight room helped create a built, cut up, and towering 6’4, 235+ build for a high school LB, and he was quick and fluid mover during drill work who doesn’t waste movement and tested at a P4 level in front of the Golden Gophers staff. Hlavacka came into the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect camp with offers from Ohio, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Memphis, and Northern Iowa, but had taken multiple visits to Minnesota coming into the camp and was 100% on offer watch contingent on his performance. I was stoked to see this one develop in person, especially as a Gophers fan. Hlavacka will fit in nicely with his B1G peers. Sounds like he’ll be moving to the Gophers rush end spot as he continues to get bigger.
The 6’4, 235 lber. comes out of a traditionally talented area of Wisconsin in Fond du Lac, home to recent NFL Draft pick Braelon Allen, and he posted more than 100 tackles for the Cardinals in the Wisconsin Division 1 big school ranks, earning First Team All-FVA Conference honors after his 110 tackle, 11 TFL, 3 sack, and 3 PBU junior season. Hlavacka’s COD ability and lateral agility show up when he’s chasing down ball carriers in space or finding seams in the OL as a blitzer, and he attacks blockers with physicality and is a mountain of an assignment for OL, both in space and around the LOS. He displays a gassed-up motor and good pursuit speed for his size that can run down ball carriers out to the edge and is a strong tackler who manhandles RBs at the point of attack. Hlavacka is a fluid athlete who reads, reacts, and flows to the football smoothly and with serious play speed, especially for a 6’4, 230 lber., and you can’t let an off-ball LB this big, this athletic, and this productive leave your recruiting footprint if you’re the Golden Gophers. Great eval and offer by Minnesota here.

The best available LB in Wisconsin is the Fond du Lac standout, Rhett Hlavacka Rhett Hlavacka 6'4" | 240 lbs | LB Fond du Lac | 2025 State WI . Rhett definitely looks the part of an FBS LB with his 6’4″ 240 lbs frame lining up at ILB or OLB. Rhett has dominant instincts that helped him pile up 110 tackles as a junior. His feel for the flow of the OL in the run game allows him the ability to quickly react and fly through his gap on the way to the ball. You see him able to cut laterally last second on his blitzes, making him a nightmare to try and block at the speed he is coming through with. Speed that allows him to roam sideline to sideline. Rhett is perfect for this age of football. You can ask him to fill the run on early downs and then use his range and agility to cover a middle zone on third downs. Give the tape a look. You will not be disappointed.

Stats: 7 Tackles, 2 TFLs, 1 SackrnIt is quick film, but the junior is an athlete that I needed to get in the spotlight. He has a frame that is ready to really take off and fill out. Rhett is a long athlete, but he still is able to play with balance that allows him to change direction, or cut to chase down QBs or RBs in the backfield. Rhett is strong on the edge. You see him run right through a block attempt on the first play of his highlights. The playmaker is only a junior, so get him on your boards early.
