Foeldi is one of the top defensive players at his position across all of southern California, and is a high impact kid as only a second year player for Mission Viejo. He has a knack for always being around the ball and causing turnovers, while a very explosive tackler in space with tremendous range and closing speed, especially for his size. He is a well built prospect that can jump routes, bait quarterbacks into bad throws and is a vicious hitter when he drops into the box. He also shows good movement skills in space, quick breaking abilities and has return skills as well after jumping routes and intercepting balls. His instincts, ball skills and ability to shut down the entire back half of the field is very impressive and part of what makes him a no brainer next level kid at the FCS+ level.
Highlights
Finegan checks into our WL rankings and is a very rangy and physical safety that has had a stellar start to his prep career in the central valley. He is a two-way star for Buchanan, and shows fluid hips in space while a natural peddler and can cover the entire back end of the field with long speed, ball skills and tremendous instincts. Offensively, he is a true vertical threat that can get over the top with ease, tracks the ball well with the proper adjustments and can make contested catches look easy. Overall, he is a very smooth athlete that should have a tremendous 2024 season for the Bears and be a name to note in the valley.
Jefferson made the transfer over from Mater Dei Catholic to Mount Miguel, and should fit in nicely at the free safety position for the Matadors. He packs a punch for his size, is a downhill run stopper that can close through the alley and fill gaps form the third level. He is a sure tackler in space that takes good angles to ball carriers and closes quickly at the POA. Jefferson is a smooth athlete that flows well to the ball and can redirect and make plays across the entire field while showing cover abilities in the back end with recovery length and speed when trailing. Look for Jefferson to have a standout 2024 season and be part of what will be a special Mount Miguel squad loaded with talent.
