Rooks has seen his recruitment explode over the last six weeks, and has quickly become one of the fastest rising northern California prospects. The 3-star defensive tackle can play anywhere along the defensive line, and is one of the more technically sound players in the region and is coming off a state-title winning season for St. Vincent de Paul. He projects as a defensive tackle in college due to his frame/size and he has recently picked up offers from Army, Navy, Idaho, Montana State and Harvard over the last couple weeks, and should be closing in on his second G5 offer. Already holding 12 Division I offers, look for Rooks to be one of the best defenders in all of Norcal in 2024 and a be huge part of the small school power offensive and defensive lines.
Myers is starting to finally pick up some positive traction and recently picked up offers from Washington State and Army, and should most likely see other Big Sky and FBS offers come his way this spring and through the second spring recruiting period. One of the top defensive linemen in Northern California, Myers is a explosive and extremely athletic/violent edge that might kick inside in college due to his growth potential and stout frame but offers excellent position versatility along the defensive line. He is a high motor kid that can bend around the edge and wins with lower body power, a strong use of hands and power rush play-style that is tough to block. He is part of an impressive Cardinal Newman front four this season, and brings plenty of experience to the table as he is going into his fourth year as a starter at defensive end.
Ajose is another excellent two-way player for the Dragons, and has a nice combination of size, strength and speed for either a SS/OLB position at the next level. He is a very fluid athlete with outstanding ball skills, can track and tackle in space and also has the range and open field speed to shut down the entire back half of the field with a very high football IQ and natural instincts. He has also been one of the more faster rising prospects out of northern California this Spring, and has picked up offers from Utah, Cal, Oregon State, SJSU, and Washington State. Look for other schools to get into the mix of his recruitment in the up and coming Spring eval period.
Calhoun mans the middle of the Pirates defense, and he put up some very impressive tape for one of the top programs in the entire state. He is a lighter and twitchier linebacker prospect that can cover, trigger in the box and provide a nice pass rush from the second level. He is a very built prospect that passes the eye test, and shows elite closing speed outside the tackles, breaks quickly to ball carriers without taking false steps and explodes through contact at the POA while a true banger in the box with plus cover abilities. Calhoun has seen some offers roll in early on in the Spring from SJSU and Boise State, and is another kid that should see more schools get into the mix as he progresses through the rest of the off-season.
