DR7’s 7v7 circuit made their annual stop in the Tulsa area over the weekend. We were able to check in on pool play Saturday and bracket play on Sunday. We saw a ton of Oklahoma talent on display and will have several spotlights throughout the next few days on Prep Redzone Oklahoma. In this article, we’re putting the spotlight the wide receivers. Now, this weekend’s tournament was loaded with some really good receivers so we’re breaking it down into three categories. Superstars, stock risers and reliable receivers. This post is all about the receivers that became reliable targets for their passing game. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more breakdowns!
Union 2025 standout Boston Carrasco Boston Carrasco 5’10” | 170 lbs | ATH Union | 2025 State OK recently picked up his first D1 offer and that should get the ball rolling for him this spring and summer. Carrasco played for 918 Elite 18U this weekend and was once again one of their top playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. We’ve written about Carrasco a handful of times since the end of last season and the theme is constant. He’s next. There is a lot of potential for the Union 2025 standout to be their top option in the passing game and arguably their top playmaker in general when you combine offense and special teams. We got a chance to watch Carrasco in person on Saturday and Sunday and he really stood out early on in bracket play on Sunday. He does an excellent job of getting open and after the catch, he’s incredibly elusive.

Salina 2027 wide receiver Cooper Hooker Cooper Hooker 5’9″ | 145 lbs | WR Salina | 2027 State OK was once again catching everything thrown his way as he played for Sooner 7’s top 15U squad. This was the third time that we’ve seen Hooker in person during the last month and each time, he blows us away with his ability to get open, make plays after the catch and like we mentioned, he simply catches everything that gets thrown his way. Hooker was the MVP of our 15U championship game two weeks ago and he made plenty of plays again this weekend. Hooker was one of the top freshmen in the state last fall and simply put, he has been dominant so far this offseason on the 7v7 circuit. We haven’t watched every single game he’s played during this offseason but we have yet to watch him and him not have a massive impact on the game.

Just like Hooker, Lincoln Christian 2026 standout Malakai Dillard Malakai Dillard 6’0″ | ATH Lincoln Christian | 2026 State OK has been a star every time we’ve seen him in person. Dillard catches everything thrown his way and like we mentioned two weeks ago during our tournament, it’s time more people start recognizing that Dillard is one of the top playmakers in the state. Just watching him warm up before a game, the athleticism is off the charts and he makes hard catches look like they are second nature for him. Dillard is a star in the making and after his breakout sophomore season, we are fired up to see what’s next for him this summer and fall. Dillard played for Sooner 7’s Alpha 18U squad and on a team full of some of the top 2025 prospects, Dillard looked like he belonged. And for us personally, that did not come as a surprise because he’s that guy.
The whole point of this breakdown centers around consistent pass-catchers and Union 2025 tight end Myles Davis Myles Davis 6’2″ | 220 lbs | TE Union | 2025 State OK continues to be that guy every time we see 918 Elite in a 7v7 tourney. Davis was featured two weeks ago in our tournament and he was back at it this weekend in Broken Arrow. While Davis’ Union and 918 Elite teammate Boston is more of a big play threat, Davis is about as reliable as it gets as a safety valve in this offense. When they can’t push it down the field, Davis is usually a guy that finds a way to get open and even when he doesn’t, he finds a way to make the contested catch. As Union continues to look for the next crop of pass catchers for this fall, don’t be surprised if this 2025 tight end sees his production go up this fall as they continue to trust him in this offense.
