The annual C4 Red River Shootout took place in Durant on Saturday morning and afternoon. The Durant-based tournament has been one of the best one-day tourneys over the last few years and it lived up to the hype again. Prep Redzone Oklahoma was on site from start to finish and we got a chance to see some great football from Oklahoma and some of the surrounding states. In this breakdown, we take a look at some of the standouts we had a chance to watch close from Hustle Inc 405 from Saturday’s action.
Saturday’s tournament was the third time we’ve seen 2025 wide receiver CJ Simon CJ Simon 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR Moore | 2025 State OK in person over the last four weeks. Every time we’ve seen him, he’s been one of the best players on the field at the wide receiver position. So at this point, we don’t know if there’s anything new that we could write about him other than that he’s one of the very best guys at his position in the state’s 2025 class. Simon is absolutely electric with the football in his hands. And he catches just about everything that gets thrown his way. There aren’t many flaws in his game. Hands, lights out speed and route running make him one of the best at his craft.
Highlights
2026 quarterback Cruz Campbell Cruz Campbell 6’0″ | 180 lbs | QB Tuttle | 2026 State OK really opened our eyes a few weeks ago at the DR7 tournament in Broken Arrow. In our opinion, he was the best quarterback in attendance so it was good to get our eyes on him in person again on Saturday. Campbell was again at the top of his game and he was making some really difficult passes look really easy. The Campbell to Simon connection was lethal once again on Saturday and the thing that really impressed us about Campbell were the levels of throws. He can throw the deep ball, that box is checked at this point. We wanted to see more throws in his bag and he was able to showcase that.
Highlights
Our final standout on this spotlight is 2025 athlete Lane Whitworth Lane Whitworth 6’0″ | 180 lbs | DB Piedmont | 2025 State OK and he did a very good job on the offensive side of the ball at wide receiver. Whitworth is an intriguing prospect for us because it was a little over a year ago that we saw him in person and he really performed well at our camp. He’s a versatile athlete that can do a little bit of everything for a team. This weekend in particular, we got a chance to watch him tear it up on the offensive side of the ball. Whitworth has really good hands and had a chance to showcase them at a high clip on Saturday afternoon. He’s going to be a prospect to keep an eye on this spring and summer.
