Terry checks in as our number one safety in this 2027 class across California and will be a high level power five recruit by the time his career at Tustin is over. He checks in as top 15 overall prospect and top 5 defensive back in our initial release and currently holds offers from Cal, Louisville, Arizona, Nevada and Washington, with other P5 schools not far behind. He has a strong build for a Freshmen, and on film shows he is a natural paddler and smooth in transition with fluid hips and elite COD abilities in the short area when in man coverage in the slot or when attacking the ball. In run support, he triggers quickly into the box and is violent at the POA while exploding through ball carriers and is not afraid to drop down and set the edge or fill a gap inside, which is impressive for someone his age and playing at the level he is at. Terry has some of the most impressive Freshmen film out of any prospect in the state, and should continue having a huge off-season.
Highlights
Johnson can play both corner and safety, and is a true middle of the field cover guy with elite ball skills, range and speed to shut down the entire back half of the field. A no brainer national recruit by the time it’s all said and done, he holds one offer from Cal, and that should soon change. In the open field, he plays with tremendous anticipation of the ball, baits quarterbacks into bad decisions before breaking on the ball and is a high IQ kid in zone coverage. In the run game, he sniffs out plays from the third level, can set the edge and even drop down in the box and slow play counters/tosses on the outside and make one on one open field tackles against bigger backs. His overall athleticism, instincts and elite ball skills/closing speed make him a very intriguing prospect with a very high floor.
Highlights
Williams enters into our initial 2027 rankings as a top 30 overall player in the state, and just outside the top ten within the defensive back room, which is the most loaded position in the entire class. He has a strong build and is well put together for his age and will only continue packing on weight and adding to his frame which could mean he finds his home at the outside linebacker position in college with his growth potential. On tape, he is another kid with elite instincts and ball skills that can jump routes with return abilities, and is a big time hitter when running the alley outside the tackles or filling in the backfield. He has a knack for making big plays whether it be stripping the ball, forcing fumbles or intercepting passes and is a no brainer FBS caliber kid at either strong safety or even outside linebacker. Look for Williams to be one of the best players regardless of position across the region this Fall.
