QB Maddox Greene Maddox Greene 5'10" | 170 lbs | QB Watauga | 2025 NC – Watauga
Maddox was selected as his conference’s player of the year, and it was an easy decision once you saw his production. This past season, he threw for 1875 yards with 23 touchdowns, ran for 1364 yards and 18 touchdowns, and also had 31 tackles on defense with two interceptions. To say he is a dual-threat quarterback may not be enough! He is a talented baseball player as well. At 5’10 and 170 pounds, when you have that kind of production, you find a place for special players like this. From a college perspective, he may be someone who can be one of those electric running back/slot receiver players who can be a game-changer on special teams also, and you can create a wildcat package around him at quarterback as well. When you look at his film, he is a great decision-maker who has explosion once he makes those decisions in the running game. He has excellent vision and agility with the football in his hands and is an accurate passer when throwing downfield.
QB Brady Stober Brady Stober 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Hickory | 2025 State NC – Hickory
I had the chance to interview Brady in the middle of last season where he was in the middle of leading the Red Tornadoes to a state championship. I love how well Brady reads the field, and he can do this from the pocket or on the move. He isn’t what I would call a dual-threat, but he can move to throw to make big plays downfield consistently. He had 3933 passing yards and 47 touchdowns to only 4 interceptions last season. The #1 thing that stands out about him is elite ball placement – I mean it is as consistent as I’ve ever seen in a quarterback prospect at his size. And that is to all levels of the football field. Speaking of size, Brady is 6’0 and 180 pounds, but he plays like a much bigger quarterback due to that aforementioned ability to see the field. After the state championship game, Brady picked up an offer from Lenoir-Rhyne, and he honestly should have more attention from like-sized schools. I expect that interest to pick up as his senior season is ongoing.
QB Jackson Byrd Jackson Byrd 6'0" | 195 lbs | QB Cleveland | 2025 State NC – Cleveland
Standing at 6’0 and 190 pounds, Jackson describes himself as a dual-threat quarterback, and the stats certainly back that designation up. He had 417 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns rushing, while he threw for over 3600 yards and had 37 touchdown passes. When you look at the highlights, Jackson certainly has excellent speed in the open field as a runner, and he can take runs the distance in the quarterback run game. He has great touch and accuracy on the deep ball as a passer and displays a strong arm on throws all over the field. He has a lot of college interest currently, and I expect that to grow as he enters the spring and summer camp season.
RB De’von Thomas – Rolesville
De’von had an incredible junior season for a strong Rolesville team. With 2312 rushing yards and 25 rushing touchdowns, he was one of the key performers on a strong offensive team. Standing at 5’9 and 195 pounds, he has a strong and compact frame to be the focal point of an offensive attack. There are several big runs on his highlights where he just runs through contact from an initial defender to make big runs into the open field on an almost routine basis. He has put the time in the weight room. He has very good speed once he breaks into the 2nd and 3rd levels and can go the distance easily. Marshall Troy, Connecticut, and Liberty are his most recent offers, and there assuredly will be more as the camp season rolls in.
RB Jamal Rule Jamal Rule 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Salisbury | 2025 State NC – Salisbury
Jamal put up some incredible numbers this past season for a strong Hornets team. He had 2712 rushing yards and 39 touchdowns, which is very impressive with Salisbury being a run-first team. Jamal is 6’0 and 190 pounds and has some recruiting interest from schools, but no offers at this time. Based on the highlights I have seen, I would expect that to change sooner than later. First off, Jamal has some impressive strength as he runs through contact consistently from all three levels. I like his vision on internal runs especially – I would describe him as a one-cut, downhill running back who is decisive when he hits the hole. I think he has good speed in the open field and can take runs to the house frequently.
RB Christopher Daley Christopher Daley 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB East Lincoln | 2025 State NC – East Lincoln
Daley burst on the scene with some big games in his sophomore year and continued to impress this past season. At 5’11 and 190 pounds, Daley is the ideal size for a college running back prospect. He boasts a 3.8 GPA as well, a great asset for recruiting purposes and reflective of his football knowledge. Taking a look at his highlights, Daley has exceptional agility with the football in his hands. On his first 3 highlights, he makes multiple cuts and jukes for big runs against multiple defenders. Once he gets a head of steam behind him in the open field, he has some very good speed to go the distance. Also impressive is his power and overall strength, where he can run through defenders attempting to make a solo tackle on him. He currently has offers from Appalachian State, Charlotte, Liberty, and East Carolina.
