An All-Conference player last season, I have been impressed previously with Elijah and his penchant for playing a tough defensive back position with physicality and athleticism. Holding an offer from Charlotte, the 5’10 and 175-pound prospect is coming into the chance to make an impact in one of the best programs in the state with the Patriots. Looking at the film, Elijah shows the ability to play both safety and corner at a high level. Elijah was left on an island against some of the best receivers in the state and held his own in 1 on 1 coverage. The thing that I’m most impressed with though is Elijah’s ability to tackle in the open field. He makes several last-line defense tackles in open space against talented offensive skill players. I think if Elijah gets active during the camp season, he will see more recruiting interest come his way.
DB Marcus Myers – West Mecklenburg
A 5’10 175-pound prospect, Marcus totaled 70 tackles last season in one of the best conferences in the state. Playing primarily from the safety position, Marcus shows some coverage skills in both man and zone techniques on his highlight film, with several pass breakups all over the field. Marcus shows some very good speed in the open field, along with some ease in his change of direction skills. Finally, I like how Marcus can fill the alley and support in the run game, and he does a good job of tackling in the open field. With a 3.5 GPA, Marcus should be active during the camp season and start to see some recruiting interest come his way.
DL Josh Watts – Berry
Josh is a 6’1-215 pound defensive line prospect who flashes some good abilities on his highlight film. Josh shows a good burst out of his stance, and some impressive short space closing speed to get sacks and pressure on the quarterback. Josh also shows some good hand usage to shed blocks and affect the interior run game. Finally, Josh plays bigger than his stats suggest – I would love to see him add some weight to his frame and that will set up to have a good junior season. With a 3.2 GPA, Josh should generate some recruiting interest if he gets active during the upcoming camp season.
DL John Dilone John Dilone 6'0" | 300 lbs | DL Palisades | 2026 NC – Palisades
Any defensive lineman with the nickname “Big Tonka” is someone I’m going to cover, lol. John is a big and strong prospect, standing at 6’0 and 300 pounds. His profile says he is a nose guard, which makes sense given his overall strength – I can admire any prospect who puts the weight room work in, for sure. When you take a look at the highlights – there’s one dominant theme – John doesn’t get moved in the interior of the defensive line, period. John anchors down against double teams and allows his linebackers to run and make tackles to slow down the inside run game. John also shows some ability to play off blocks and make tackles against running backs.
