This article was perfect timing as Huntington WR Tayveon Wilson Tayveon Wilson 6’3″ | 205 lbs | WR Huntington | 2026 State WV received his first D1 offer from in-state Marshall yesterday, 10 days after debuting in the 2026 rankings as the #3 overall player and #1 ranked WR. The 6’3 205 sophomore led the loaded Highlanders’ receiving group this season totaling 588 yards on 27 catches and 11 touchdowns. Wilson was a First Team All-State selection by the WVSWA as a Punter where he’s also a high-level player. He’s a four-sport athlete who will earn accolades in other sports as well including basketball, track, and baseball where he was named First Team All-MSAC as a freshman outfielder. Wilson is built very well for a sophomore skill player with the natural ability and athleticism that you’re born with. The play at 48 seconds on his sophomore highlight tape is what first blew me away taking a screen pass 63 yards to the end zone while blowing past 7 defenders with angles on him. Not only is Wilson fast but he’s strong and can brush off arm tackles and weak attempts easily and is a very good YAC receiver. He also has natural ball skills with great body control and can make tough acrobatic catches look easy. Wilson is sure to be a P4 prospect sooner rather than later.
Highlights
Princeton quarterback Chance Barker Chance Barker 6’3″ | 175 lbs | QB Princeton | 2026 State WV burst onto the scene about as well as you can in his first season as QB1 for the Tigers. Barker helped lead the Tigers to a Class AAA state championship runner-up finish throwing for 3,500 yards and 49 touchdowns which were second and tied for first in each category respectively. He’s a lanky 6’3 170 pocket passer who does have the athleticism to make plays with his legs when needed. Barker had the luxury of throwing to the 2023 House and Moss award winner Dominick Collins Dominick Collins 5’9″ | 165 lbs | WR Princeton | 2024 State WV who was a fantastic safety net for him so it will be interesting to see how he’ll perform the next two seasons without him. He’s a young gunslinger who gets to throw it all over the field in Princeton’s offense and will be a great duo with #3 ranked 2026 WR Brad Mossor Brad Mossor 5’11” | 180 lbs | WR Princeton | 2026 State WV in the new Class AAA. Barker has a high release on his passes which allows him to throw with nice touch at all three levels of the passing game. He throws with nice zip on the ball over the middle and is an accurate passer on quick throws. Barker’s deep balls can float a bit at times and are a work in progress but his short and intermediate throws are typically well-placed and on time. He enters the 2026 rankings as the #1 QB in the class and has a great chance of maintaining that high mark over the next two years.

You won’t find many underclassmen seeing significant playing time for the Huntington Highlanders unless they’re big-time players and 2026 DE Max Bohren Max Bohren 6’4″ | 210 lbs | DL Huntington | 2026 State WV appears to be the next in line. Bohren has great length already at 6’4 210 and as he continues filling out that long frame he’ll take his game to a new level. I love the way he plays the position at a young age showing no signs of being timid or reserved in his tenacity. Bohren fires off the ball quickly with relentless pursuit to get to the ball. He has good short-area quickness and recovery speed while having the ability to redirect his movement mid-play to attack the ball. Bohren’s bull rush is powerful and will push backward offensive linemen who aren’t prepared for his combination of size, speed, and strength. He’s also able to disengage from blockers and fight them off to make the tackle. I’m excited to watch him develop over the next two seasons and have an early D1 grade on him.
Brad Mossor Brad Mossor 5’11” | 180 lbs | WR Princeton | 2026 State WV battled it out with teammate and #1 ranked 2026 QB Chance Barker Chance Barker 6’3″ | 175 lbs | QB Princeton | 2026 State WV for the QB1 spot this off-season but has settled in nicely at WR. Although I’m sure Mossor was disappointed in that result, I’d say it’s worked out well for both of them as they have each landed inside the early Top 20 of the 2026 rankings and reached the Class AAA state championship. Mossor was likely overshadowed a bit by senior Dominick Collins Dominick Collins 5’9″ | 165 lbs | WR Princeton | 2024 State WV who will now be heading to WVU on scholarship, but he should have a huge breakout junior season in 2024. Mossor was no slouch this season either in Princeton’s prolific offense catching 48 passes for 805 yards and 8 touchdowns. The 5’11 165 receiver was a First Team All-Coalfields Conference selection and a PRZ WV Class AAA Honorable Mention All-State pick, Mossor has a quick release with the speed and quickness to separate from defenders during the route and the playmaking ability after the catch. He can be effective in all three levels of the passing game but is especially good in the screen game. Mossor also showed innate ball skills with toe-tapping sideline ability to be a clutch performer. With a full offseason solely focusing on the receiver position I expect him to make a big jump this upcoming season.
I tell you what, the 2025 and 2026 classes have some impressive TE prospects with great potential, and that includes Ripley’s Carter Neal Carter Neal 6’6″ | 220 lbs | TE Ripley | 2026 State WV . Neal is a legit 6’6 220 and to my surprise is not on the Vikings’ basketball team and instead prefers the wrestling mat. That wrestling background should greatly benefit him at the TE position, especially in the blocking game. Neal is a raw athlete right now but you can see the high upside and potential that he possesses on his sophomore highlight tape. While still a bit lanky, I appreciated the number of blocking clips as an in-line TE, and that part of the game will only get better as he continues to add weight and strength. Ripley doesn’t throw the ball a ton so pass-catching highlights are limited but I have full confidence in his athletic ability to develop that part of the TE position. Neal is also his team’s long snapper giving him a good plan B as a college prospect with his size and athleticism. He also sees time as a hybrid DE/OLB but I firmly believe Neal can develop into a D1 level TE prospect over the next two years.
One of three Cabell Midland Knights in the Top 6 of the 2026 OL rankings is guard Ben Guilliams Ben Guilliams 6’3″ | 265 lbs | OL Cabell Midland | 2026 State WV . Guilliams was a First Team All-MSAC performer this season and a PRZ WV Class AAA Honorable Mention All-State pick. The 6’2 250 guard plays with a nasty streak with violent hands that can knock down a defender with his first punch. Guilliams shows quality athleticism from his guard spot with the ability to block down to the second level and good foot quickness when pulling and in space. He’s a very physical run blocker who plays with good leverage and does a nice job with his hand placement getting under defenders. Guilliams is a stout young lineman with very good physical strength for a sophomore. He’s dominant at the point of attack and sustains and finishes his blocks until the whistle. All three Cabell Midland sophomore offensive linemen currently in our rankings have a D2 floor with a ceiling of becoming potential D1 prospects and a great foundation to build around for future team success.
Wheeling Central’s Isaac Martin Isaac Martin 6’0″ | 215 lbs | RB Wheeling Central Catholic | 2026 State WV is your traditional power running back who produced a quality sophomore season for the Maroon Knights. Martin averaged 6.6 yards per carry on his way to rushing for 750 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s the thunder to highly ranked 2025 WR/RB Braden McWreath Braden McWreath 6’2″ | 185 lbs | WR Wheeling Central Catholic | 2025 State WV ‘s lightning and the two should be a dynamic duo in 2024. Martin is currently having an undefeated wrestling season in the 215-pound weight class and has had great development in the weight room thus far. He’s not going to do anything fancy once he gets the ball and only wants to get downhill to run over you and through you. A highly physical runner who is best between the tackles and can get you those tough extra yards after initial contact. Thankfully I got to see him in person for his best game of the season by far against Shadyside (OH) where he rushed for 221 yards and three scores while averaging 11 yards per carry. Seeing him live confirms what you see on tape and if Martin can find another gear with his speed he’ll have D1 colleges calling.
