who returns over 2,000 all-purpose yards and 25 touchdowns for his senior year. The track star has next-level speed and will see the bulk of his time at running back but we like his future at receiver at the next level. Even so, McReath led the Knights in receiving and rushing as a junior, and will still utilize him as a pass catcher this season. He has some of the fastest straight-line speed in the state regardless of classification and is a threat to score any time he touches the ball.
Even with a move up to the new Class AA, expect McWreath to have another big season for the Knights with a healthy year.

is someone we wrote about seemingly every week this season in our weekly standouts series and had a ton of production rushing and receiving for the Maroon Knights this season. McWreath was the leading rusher and receiver for the Knights during his junior season rushing for 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns along with 562 yards receiving and 10 more scores. He totaled 2,000 all-purpose yards while being the 4th leading tackler on defense and two picks. McWreath has legit track speed and is a real burner who is often the fastest athlete on the field especially at the small school level. Wheeling Central will be moving up to the new Class AA and right now he’s ranked as a Top 10 player in the AA/A classification and could keep seeing his ranking steadily increase with another season like this one. His speed puts him in the D1 prospect conversation and could see some attention from colleges at that level in the coming months.

every week this season and although he currently has more rushing yards than receiving yards we feel strongly that he’ll be a receiver at the next level. Through five games, McWreath has rushed for an impressive 634 yards and five touchdowns on a 9.8 yards per carry average. He’s one of the top rushing and receiving leaders in the state which is a feat you don’t often see. McWreath has been the Maroon Knights’ go-to playmaker all season and you can see why. He’s also caught 21 passes for 380 yards and six more touchdowns on an 18.1 yards per catch average. At the halfway point of the season, McWreath has 1,114 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns. He’s added 23 tackles and two interceptions as well and is proving to be one of Class A’s best overall athletes with still one more year to go.
