From testing times, to individual drills, to 1-on-1’s, each and every tight end displayed great energy, skills, and athleticism. The following 5 tight ends stood out the most as they dominated every single rep that that took.
Bork is a big body tight end who brings a lot to the table. The 6’5, 225 lbs junior out of Oconomowoc has a unique combination of size and athleticism. He tested well, running a 4.93 forty yard dash and a 4.59 short shuttle. Bork’s most impressive testing number was his 9’10 broad jump. These numbers represent his explosiveness at the tight end position, as he has the size to be an elite blocker and displayed tremendous body control and route running in 1-on-1’s. Bork earned Tight End MVP Honors at the WI Stock Up Showcase, which is a sign of big things to come for this impressive tight end.
The 6’3, 231 lbs tight end from Nathan Hale High School was impressive throughout the Wisconsin Stock Up Showcase. Schloss is a junior who stood out in individual drills and 1-on-1’s versus defensive backs. He used his frame to take advantage of smaller defensive backs, showcasing his ability to box them out on shorter throws while going up and getting the ball on vertical routes. Schloss has solid footwork and soft hands that made every catch look smooth. This rising junior is one to keep an eye on, as Schloss was one of the more impressive tight ends we have seen on our camp circuit.
Thiry was another big body tight end who impressed with his athleticism. The junior from Praire Du Chien measured in at 6’4, 221 lbs and tested incredibly well. Thiry posted a 4.97 40 yard dash, a 7.28 L-drill, and a 9’9 broad jump. This athleticism was on full display during 1-on-1’s, as Thiry beat opposing defensive backs in a variety of ways. He’d beat them with speed over the top, create separation with his route running, and used his frame to make contested catches when guarded tightly. This do-it-all tight end is a name to remember, as Thiry’s recruiting is sure to heat up over the next several months.
Highlights
The 6’4, 195 lbs tight end had a monster performance at the WI Stock Up Showcase. What’s most impressive about Loken is that he is a freshman. For those in attendance at the camp, you couldn’t tell. He was selected to compete in the final best on best 1-on-1 matchups to finish off the camp and put up testing numbers that paralleled, if not bested, the other upperclassmen tight ends in attendance. Loken ran a 4.97 40 yard dash, a 7.00 L-drill, and broad jumped a 9’5. His athleticism and polished route running showed up throughout the camp. While he still has 3 years of varsity football left, this rising star’s recruiting is sure to pick up steam soon.
Boivin is another young prospect who turned heads at the WI Stock Up Showcase. The 6’0, 185 lb freshman tight end from Neenah may have been the smallest of the group, but he stood his ground when going against some of the best upperclassmen defensive backs that the camp had to offer. Boivin is an incredibly smooth route runner, who possesses plus speed and strong hands. He ran extremely well and showcased the ability to separate from defenders in a variety of ways. As he grows and fills out his frame, look for Boivin to be a dominant tight end in the state of Wisconsin over the next 3 years.
