CARL ALBERT’S TEN PLAYERS TO WATCH
Carl Albert junior Caden Davis Caden Davis 6’0″ | LB Carl Albert | 2025 State OK has made the move from defensive lineman to linebacker and it has certainly fit him incredibly well. Last season, Davis earned All State honors and was one of the state’s leaders in sacks as a sophomore. This season, Davis has moved back to the linebacker position and while his sack numbers have gone down, his tackles have exploded and by the end of Saturday’s game, he’ll be flirting with 200 tackles on the season. Davis is a massive name to watch on Saturday considering who they’re going against. Davis will need to know where Del City’s QB and RB at all times.
The first of several offensive linemen on this breakdown is senior Easton Collier Easton Collier OL Carl Albert | 2024 OK and he comes into Saturday’s game with a wealth of experience. Coming into this season, Collier was a two-year starter and he added his third season this fall. Collier and the rest of the Carl Albert offensive line have done a good job paving the way for one of the best running backs in the state. And this is an offense that is one of the best in the state. And while the skill players get a ton of credit, it all starts up front on the line of scrimmage. Collier and the rest of the offensive line has elevated their game this season.
For the second straight season, senior linebacker Easton Harless Easton Harless 6’0″ | LB Carl Albert | 2024 State OK has been a tackling machine. While Davis leads the team in tackles, Harless is over the 100 tackle mark for the second consecutive year. That 1-2 punch of Davis and Harless is incredibly productive at the linebacker position. And like we mentioned with Davis, the Titans will need their front seven to play well as they look to limit Del City’s impact in the running game and overall playmakers. One thing that stands out to us when we look at Harless this season is his ability to perform at his best in some of the biggest games of the year.
Kickers are prospects too! And Carl Albert has one of the better kickers in the state with Ethan Spiwak Ethan Spiwak 6’4″ | 160 lbs | K Carl Albert | 2025 State OK and he very well could provide the difference on Saturday afternoon. This is a state championship match-up that feels pretty close on paper. Both teams are averaging nearly 50 points per game. Both teams have been perfect this season. If this ends up being a close game, don’t be surprised to see Carl Albert rely on Spiwak to make some big kicks in big moments. He’s also a weapon in the kicking game and they’ll look to kick it away from Del City’s playmakers.
Highlights
We’ve watched a lot of football this season all over the state. But Carl Albert junior quarterback and Oklahoma commit Kevin Sperry Kevin Sperry 6’2″ | 190 lbs | QB Denton Guyer | 2025 TX still has the grittiest performance we’ve seen in person. In their week eight clash with Guthrie, Sperry was beat up all night and still got up, time after time and led a game-winning drive with a touchdown pass on fourth and goal. Sperry will be challenged again this weekend by the Del City defense. But it’s hard to imagine that the OU commit won’t be ready for another fight. He’s already proven he can take shot after shot and continue to keep swinging.
This offseason, the Titans had a couple playmakers move in and provide instant impact. Junior standout and Oklahoma commit Marcus James Marcus James 6’3″ | ATH Carl Albert | 2025 State OK is one of those players. Whether he’s lining up at tight end of linebacker, James is one of the X-factors for us coming into this weekend. Like Sperry, James showed that he’s a reliable playmaker in the biggest games of the year. He caught that game-winning touchdown against Guthrie and seems to play his best against the toughest competition. We expect James to impact the game but the only question is whether it will be offense, defense or both.
A lot of what we wrote about Collier on the line of scrimmage can be repeated here with fellow senior Tanner Norman Tanner Norman 6’3″ | OL Carl Albert | 2024 State OK at the offensive line position. Like Collier, Norman is a three-year starter for the Titans this season. He led the team in pancakes last season and has been mauling opponents this season. And stop us if you’ve heard this before. Norman is also one of the top baseball prospects in the state with the Titan baseball program. Carl Albert has seen quite a few prospects come through in the last two decades that have shined bright in not only football but in baseball as well.
Carl Albert junior Trey Washington Trey Washington 6’3″ | WR Carl Albert | 2025 State OK is the third prospect on this breakdown that is currently committed to Oklahoma. Washington has been a player to watch since his breakout season as a freshman. He has continued to grow into an absolute playmaker on both sides of the ball. He’s a special talent on offense and defense. But the most important part of Washington’s game this weekend might come in special teams. Del City has one of the best punt returners in the state and Washington is also one of the better punters in Class 5A. Punting away from Del City’s speed will be important.
When you look at this year’s Carl Albert team, you can certainly make the argument that junior standout Trystan Haynes Trystan Haynes 6’2″ | 165 lbs | ATH Carl Albert | 2025 State OK has been the team’s most valuable player. On offense, he’s the leading receiver and he can take a short pass and turn it into a touchdown in the blink of an eye. On defense, he’s a ball hawk in the secondary and he also happens to be one of the better returners in Class 5A. When you can have that kind of impact in all three phases of the game, you are a truly special talent. And that’s exactly what Haynes is and that’s why he’s being recruited by just about every school by now.
Highlights
Carl Albert senior running back Xavier Robinson Xavier Robinson 6’2″ | 225 lbs | RB Carl Albert | 2024 State OK is the reigning PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year. He’s very clearly one of the top players in the state but it’s amazing how this season has felt not as impactful because he hasn’t had to be “Superman” and put up video game-like numbers. But then you pull up his stats and he still has been a touchdown machine. And the Titans have one of the best quarterbacks in the state so the passing game has taken a massive jump this fall. But when it comes down to it, Robinson is still one of the best players in the state and he will have his impact felt on Saturday.
