There was no shortage of great offense on display on Saturday! Points and yards were racking up in bunches. This article is going to highlight 8 impressive performances from some great offensive players!

Seth Maurer- RB, Ubly: Seth had himself a really good day offensively. His burst to through the hole allowed him to rack up 141 rushing yards, which was the most of anyone in the D8 final. He doesn't have elite breakaway speed by any means, but he was more elusive than I had expected. He should feel good about this impressive performance.

[player_tooltip player_id='610770' first='Jake' last='Vermaas']- WR, Grand Rapids South Christian: Jake did exactly what I knew he was capable of, and it was nice to see some people that weren't familiar with him take note. He wound up with 10 catches, and he was just short of the 200 yard mark. His hands are so good, and he wins 50/50 balls at a great rate! The more SC connected with him, the better the offense performed as a whole.

[player_tooltip player_id='1290463' first='Carson' last='Vis']- QB, Grand Rapids South Christian: Throwing to [player_tooltip player_id='610770' first='Jake' last='Vermaas'] was Carson, and their connection was evident all game long. He completed a whopping 30 passes for 441 and 2 TDs against an incredible secondary. The thing that really allowed that was his mobility. He was able to move in and out of the pocket to extend plays, and he was able to keep his eyes downfield to complete a ton of passes. Harper Woods had a ton of trouble getting Carson on the ground just because of his ability to improvise.

[player_tooltip player_id='603737' first='Donald' last='Adams']- RB, Harper Woods: One of the most impressive ground attacks of the weekend, Adams lit it up. He put up 174 yards, and averaged over 10 yards per carry. He was hitting open seams at full speed and blowing through arm tackles. He was able to see the running lanes, and had the burst to get there before it closed. It was so much fun watching him make guy after guy miss. I will definitely be high on him heading into next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1148711' first='Nate' last='Rocheleau']-QB, Harper Woods: Nate was really poised and collected for a sophomore in the biggest game of his life. The lights could have been too bright for him, but instead he actually seemed quite comfortable. Going 10-17 with 210 yards and 2 touchdowns is not something I necessarily expected, but I was really happy to see. There were a couple misses just do to accuracy, but I think he is going to be able to continue to evolve and hone it in. He seems to be a good leader, and a poised kid that is on a great trajectory to start his career. Absolutely loved to see him play well on this big stage.

Eli Graves- RB, Kingsley: Eli had himself a historic game- literally! His 30 points is tied for most all time in state finals history. His 4 touchdowns and 210 rushing yards on top of all of the 2 point conversions just felt like one of the most all around dominant performances of recent memory. It was an extremely impressive performance of quickness and power mixed, and an ability to just make 1 cut and get downhill. I saw after the game he received some offers, and I think he should definitely get more. This kid is special with the ball in his hands!

M'Khi Guy- QB, Muskegon: When you bring up special players in this state, M'Khi Guy has to be right up near the top. 215 of the 303 Muskegon rushing yards came from Guy, and he also threw for 160 yards, including a 95 yard TD. He does a great job of avoiding big hits even as undersized as he may be. He is really good about getting down or out of bounds to avoid taking unnecessary shots, and finding the smallest seams to make another huge play. I saw as soon as this game wrapped up, he was getting college interest which I was happy to see for him. Definitely a guy to do your homework on.

[player_tooltip player_id='899473' first='Sante' last='Gasperoni']- QB, De La Salle: Though the result isn't what he wanted, and the 2nd half was not great, I thought overall he was solid. He had 2 rushing TDs, and threw for 1 with 250 yards to go with it. The Muskegon defense did a great job taking away his receivers most of the 2nd half, but when someone would get the slightest step he was pretty good at finding them and making the right throw. I like what he was able to do under pressure most of the times, as he still didn't turn it over even though he could have definitely forced things. I am excited to see the next step in his development after having a season under his belt and even in a "Down Year" still making it to Ford Field.
