Brayden Clark Brayden Clark 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Scott | 2025 State WV – Scott ’25 WR
Scott junior big play threat Brayden Clark Brayden Clark 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Scott | 2025 State WV couldn’t be covered in their win over a talented Mingo Central squad. We wrote in our Midseason WR Stock Risers article that Clark is a deep ball specialist and he proved just that again this week. The Miners quickly found out that the 6’3 athletic receiver was a load to try to defend and Clark showed why. He caught only 6 passes but they went for 195 yards and two touchdowns on a 32.5 yards per catch average. This is the fourth time this season that Clark has averaged over 30 yards per catch.
Matt Frye Matt Frye 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Scott | 2024 State WV – Scott ’24 QB
You simply can’t not be amazed at the season senior Scott quarterback Matt Frye Matt Frye 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Scott | 2024 State WV is putting together this season. It’s unlikely that he’ll not be worthy of making our weekly standouts every week and had another huge night against previously undefeated Mingo Central. The Skyhawks defeated the Miners by a score of 50-20 and Frye scored five of those touchdowns against what has been a dominant Mingo Central defense until this game. He completed 16 of 23 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns and also added 23 yards and one more score with his legs. Frye should be in the Kennedy Award conversation if he can finish the season strong.
BJ Williams BJ Williams 5'7" | 160 lbs | WR Clay County | 2024 State WV – Clay County ’24 ATH
It was the BJ Williams BJ Williams 5'7" | 160 lbs | WR Clay County | 2024 State WV and Noah Collins Noah Collins 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Clay County | 2025 State WV show in Clay County’s 48-14 win over Logan. Williams caught all four touchdown passes from teammate Noah Collins Noah Collins 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Clay County | 2025 State WV for 144 yards. He reeled in double-digit catches (11) and averaged 13.1 yards per catch. This was Williams’ second 100-yard receiving game this season and second most receiving yards in a game on the year. He has 511 yards receiving and six touchdowns through the first five games.
Noah Collins Noah Collins 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Clay County | 2025 State WV – Clay County ’25 QB
Junior Clay County quarterback Noah Collins Noah Collins 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Clay County | 2025 State WV has been on fire this season for the Panthers and has continued putting up monster numbers in their spread offense. Collins was slinging it again against Logan and threw for 391 yards and four touchdowns with all of them going to senior teammate BJ Williams BJ Williams 5'7" | 160 lbs | WR Clay County | 2024 State WV . Collins threw 42 passes in the game but had a very efficient 81% completion percentage. He now has 1,604 yards passing and 18 touchdowns to just three interceptions.
Raymond Kovalesky Raymond Kovalesky 6'3" | 230 lbs | LB Linsly | 2024 State WV – Linsly ’24 LB
The Linsly Cadets had the tall task of matchup up with perennial Ohio power the Steubenville Big Red and senior linebacker Raymond Kovalesky Raymond Kovalesky 6'3" | 230 lbs | LB Linsly | 2024 State WV stepped up in a big way in a tough 27-19 defeat. Kovalesky is a stout 6’3 220 middle linebacker who is also seeing time on the offensive line this season. He racked up an incredible 21 total tackles with 14 of them being solos. Kovalesky also forced and recovered a fumble that he returned for 50 yards and had a handful of pancakes on the offensive line.
Nick Bowers Nick Bowers 5'9" | 150 lbs | RB Elkins | 2025 WV – Elkins ’25 RB
The Elkins Tigers make their debut in our weekly standouts after junior running back Nick Bowers Nick Bowers 5'9" | 150 lbs | RB Elkins | 2025 WV went off in a 28-7 win over Grafton for their first victory of the season. Bowers ran all over the Bearcats for 221 yards and three touchdowns. He scored on touchdown runs of 2 yards twice and a 25-yard scamper. Bowers would also kick all four extra points in the game. He carried the ball a whopping 27 times and averaged 8.1 yards per carry.
Sencere Fields Sencere Fields 5'8" | 150 lbs | DB Bluefield | 2024 State WV – Bluefield ’24 ATH
Bluefield senior athlete Sencere Fields Sencere Fields 5'8" | 150 lbs | DB Bluefield | 2024 State WV has stepped up big time for the Beavers this season as their quarterback where he typically hasn’t played. Bluefield needed an answer at the position while the starter was out and Fields has put together some big performances in his place. The 5’8 140 dynamic senior isn’t your typical quarterback but his athleticism makes him a dangerous foe to go against. He ran for 155 yards and three touchdowns while also passing for 126 yards and another score. This snapped Bluefield’s three-game losing streak against Independence as the Beavers cruised to a 43-21 win.
Brody Whitehair Brody Whitehair 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Fairmont Senior | 2025 State WV – Fairmont Senior ’25 QB
Junior Fairmont Senior quarterback Brody Whitehair Brody Whitehair 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Fairmont Senior | 2025 State WV had his typical big performance as the Polar Bears handed North Marion their first loss of the season. Whitehair has been another regular in our weekly standouts and was key in his team’s victory this week. He completed 13 of 22 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns in the game and added two more scores with his legs to bring his total to six on the night as Fairmont Senior pulled out the 54-36 victory.
Corey Lyons Corey Lyons 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Weir | 2024 State WV – Weir ’24 RB
Weir senior running back Corey Lyons Corey Lyons 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Weir | 2024 State WV dominated the field against Keyser which led the Red Riders to a resounding 49-21 victory. Lyons rushed for an impressive 191 yards and scored five touchdowns on just 17 carries. He averaged 11.2 yards per carry and the Keyser defense just couldn’t slow Lyons down until an injury late in the game. Lyons has quietly been one of the best running backs in Class AA this season and has had a phenomenal senior season.
Preston Bonnett Preston Bonnett 5'11" | 165 lbs | RB Poca | 2025 State WV – Poca ’25 RB
Poca’s junior standout, Preston Bonnett Preston Bonnett 5'11" | 165 lbs | RB Poca | 2025 State WV , had another memorable night against Sissonville in a commanding 32-14 victory. Carrying the ball 28 times, Bonnett amassed 214 yards and notched three touchdowns. Additionally, he showcased his receiving abilities, catching three passes for 65 yards and one more touchdown. Bonnett has exploded onto the scene for the Poca Dots this season and was one of our RB Stock Risers through the midpoint of the season.
Avery Pannell Avery Pannell 5'9" | 185 lbs | WR Herbert Hoover | 2025 State WV – Herbert Hoover ’25 WR
The Dane Hatfield Dane Hatfield 6'4" | 185 lbs | ATH Herbert Hoover | 2025 State WV to Avery Pannell Avery Pannell 5'9" | 185 lbs | WR Herbert Hoover | 2025 State WV connection was deadly all night long in Herbert Hoover’s win over Chapmanville. The junior dup hooked up three times for scores through the air. Pannell did his damage in the red zone and had touchdown receptions of 3, 8, and 11 yards in the game. This is Pannell’s first appearance on our weekly standouts and a 2025 prospect to watch for in Class AA.
Dane Hatfield Dane Hatfield 6'4" | 185 lbs | ATH Herbert Hoover | 2025 State WV – Herbert Hoover ’25 QB/ATH
Herbert Hoover junior QB, Dane Hatfield Dane Hatfield 6'4" | 185 lbs | ATH Herbert Hoover | 2025 State WV , delivered yet another spectacular performance against Chapmanville, throwing four touchdowns and rushing for two more in a resounding 49-23 victory over the Tigers. He rushed for 157 yards on 16 carries and threw for another 140 to bring his total to 297 yards of offense on the night. Hatfield has been a regular in our weekly standouts and has made the list nearly every week.
Isaiah Heflin Isaiah Heflin 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Liberty-Harrison | 2027 WV – Liberty-Harrison ’27 QB
In a standout start, Liberty-Raleigh freshman QB Isaiah Heflin Isaiah Heflin 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Liberty-Harrison | 2027 WV completed 11 of 14 passes for 243 yards and four touchdowns, boasting a remarkable 78% completion rate. This stellar performance led to a blowout 57-23 victory over Braxton County. Heflin boasted an incredible 159.2 QB rating and also had zero interceptions in the game. The Mountaineers have turned to the freshman Heflin this season and he has quickly impressed in his first year of high school.
Latrell Jones Latrell Jones 5'10" | 160 lbs | RB Robert C. Byrd | 2025 State WV – Robert C. Byrd ’25 RB
In a standout performance, junior Latrell Jones Latrell Jones 5'10" | 160 lbs | RB Robert C. Byrd | 2025 State WV of Robert C. Byrd had his best night of the season carrying the ball 23 times, and amassing an impressive 140 yards. He would score five touchdowns in the game while averaging 6 yards per carry. The junior had 100 yards rushing and three touchdowns by halftime. Jones and the RCB Eagles defeated Oak Glen by a score of 44-8 for their first victory of the season in a rebuilding year for the young RCB team.
Kadien Vance Kadien Vance 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Westside | 2025 State WV – Westside ’25 ATH
Westside quarterback Kadien Vance Kadien Vance 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Westside | 2025 State WV delivered a solid performance in a 48-14 win over Liberty-Raleigh. Vance completed an efficient 13 of 15 passes with an impressive 226 yards passing. Three of his passes would go for touchdowns and he added another on the ground to bring his total to four on the night. Vance and the Renegades’ offense put up 493 total yards of offense and are now 3-2 on the season.
