Another 2025 prospect who has improved mightily since we first saw him as a sophomore is Clay County’s

. He rewrote the Panthers’ record book during his long tenure behind center and finished his career with nearly 10,000 passing yards and 112 passing touchdowns. Collins is a phenomenal athlete who got it done with his legs and on defense and special teams as well forcing his coaches to play him as much as they could. He may not be as polished as some of the other quarterback in our rankings, but the production isn’t a fluke and there’s plenty of raw talent here for D2 programs to work with as he continues flying under college radars.

may not have finished his high school career the way he wanted to on the scoreboard, but the gunslinger went out the way he knows best. Collins tossed three touchdowns and threw for 264 yards in the tough 24-17 loss to Philip Barbour. Collins and the Panthers’ spread offense attempted 42 passes in the narrow defeat as he finishes his senior year with 3,386 yards and 44 touchdowns as one of the top passers in West Virginia again this season statistically. His recruitment remains quiet and is a must-offer for D2 programs in the state with more room to continue growing as a quarterback.

is off to a blistering start for the Panthers this season and has continued the great momentum he built during his junior season. Collins has already thrown for 762 yards and 11 touchdowns in three games and has his team at the top of Class AA during the early portion of this young season. He’s a tremendous athlete who makes it nearly impossible to take him off the field and has also made a big impact on defense and special teams. Collins just wrapped up a huge performance against the current #1 rated Class AA team in the state in Roane County where he threw for 353 yards and 5 touchdowns with another 154 yards coming on the ground and a 6th score in the narrow 47-46 defeat.
Collins has made great strides in his mechanics and development as a passer since his younger years and has worked himself into being a serious quarterback prospect for his senior year. Every D2 program in the state should be targeting him heavily.

continues to put up big stat lines week after week just as he did last season and had another dominant performance against Buffalo in week two. He scored five touchdowns and threw for 229 yards while stepping up on defense this season with another 2 interceptions as he did last week. Collins and the Panthers have their first tough test of the season versus a very good Roane County team in a PRZ Class AA Game of the Week matchup which will be a great test to see where he and his team are this season.

made a strong case for both Players of the Week spots but earned our first Top Performer mention for his work against Midland Trail in week one. Collins got it done on both sides of the ball and was clearly the best player on the field Friday night. He completed 15/23 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown while adding two more scores with his legs and 106 rushing yards. Collins’ impact on defense was all the more impressive with 2 interceptions and taking one of them to the house. He’s one of the most underrated and under-the-radar players in the state whose recruitment should begin to pick up after a very strong junior season and a great start to his senior year.

. The current #8 2025 QB was extremely productive last season as a junior and was one of the top passers in the state with 3,100 yards passing and 43 touchdowns to just 7 interceptions. The 6’1 175 rising senior also led the Panthers in rushing with 500 yards and 4 more scores and is a versatile overall athlete. Collins took a big jump from his sophomore to junior season in all facets of his game and is an early favorite to potentially receive QB MVP honors. There are three main things that we’ll be looking for from him at the combine: what will his measurements and testing numbers be, have his mechanics continued to progress, and how will he perform without his right-hand man 2024 WR
BJ Williams

? Steady size progression has been a key emphasis for him, and that’s an area he’s progressed in. Collins posts some impressive testing numbers on Twitter/X and getting to confirm those will be very beneficial as well. He also had a great connection with Williams over the years, so it will be great to see if he can have the same results with receivers he’s not familiar with. If Collins can do those three things he’ll be in line for a rankings boost and a rise in his stock.

‘ sophomore film to his junior film and that translated to big-time production. Collins led the Panthers to an 8-2 record and threw for 3,100 yards and 43 touchdowns in his junior season. He was also the leading rusher for Clay County with 500 yards and 4 more touchdowns. Collins has better throwing mechanics than he did as a sophomore but that’s still an area that he can improve on further. More added weight would also benefit his game but Collins is making steady progress and could jump higher in our 2025 rankings with another big season and further development in 2024.
