The diamond in Glenville State’s class may just be Clay County WR BJ Williams BJ Williams 5'7" | 160 lbs | WR Clay County | 2024 State WV . The 5’7 pass catcher seemingly made every Weekly Standouts article each week this season and had a huge senior year for the Panthers. He hauled in 79 passes for over 1,000 yards and 17 touchdowns while totaling just under 1,400 all-purpose yards this year. The three-year starter tallied over 2,600 career receiving yards and scored 44 touchdowns during his time at Clay. I have a feeling he’ll be a future headache for opposing defensive coordinators and someone who plays well above his size.

Clay County has played just four games this season but Williams is still one of the leading receivers in the state through the first five weeks. He’s caught 23 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns in four games and averaging 16 yards per catch. Williams has made an impact on defense as well with 18 tackles and 3 TFLs. For only being 5’7 160, Williams does a nice job absorbing contact and showed some really good hands in his three-game highlight video. He often finds himself wide open from his slot position which is a credit to his athletic abilities and his coaches scheming him open and allowing him to do the rest.

Williams produced a big season for the Panthers as a junior to the tune of 1,000 yards and 9 touchdowns while hauling in 84 passes. Williams also had a very productive year on the ground rushing for over 500 yards and 10 touchdowns. If you thought he was done there you are very wrong because he also intercepted 8 passes on defense, the leader in the state. At 5’7 160 you might overlook him for his size but Williams is a gamer. He’s very athletic and it’s no wonder why his coaches got the ball in his hands as much as they did. His versatility in the running and passing game makes him one of the better athletes in Class AA. Williams also showed he has very sure hands and made some impressive acrobatic catches last season. He’s very good with the ball in his hands and has the speed and twitch to be very dangerous after the catch and on handoffs. Williams performs well at all levels of the field and in a variety of ways. It will be tough to top his junior season but look for BJ Williams BJ Williams 5'7" | 160 lbs | WR Clay County | 2024 State WV to put up even bigger video game numbers for his senior season.
