Glenville State by far had the most in-state signees with a total of 21 up to this point. Here are the WV prospects who have signed with the Pioneers thus far.
Players Ranked: 20/21 | Top 100 Players: 6
The gem of the Glenville State class was North Marion QB/LB Casey Minor Casey Minor 6’1″ | 190 lbs | LB North Marion | 2024 State WV . The two-way star led the Huskies to the Class AA state championship and picked up many offers including one from D1 Morehead State. Minor is considered a Top 50 prospect and #5 LB in the 2024 class according to our rankings and probably could’ve been even higher. He’s one of two North Marion products currently committed to Glenville State.
Below was our evaluation of Minor this season.

Glenville State has signed two in-state quarterbacks in their 2024 recruiting class with the higher-ranked one being East Fairmont’s Ian Crookshanks Ian Crookshanks 6’1″ | 200 lbs | QB East Fairmont | 2024 State WV . He just missed ranking inside our Top 50 and finished as the #6 QB in the state which had some talented passers in the 2024 class. The Pioneers nabbed two quarterbacks inside our Top 10 including the #2 and #4 QBs with D2 grades.
Below was our evaluation of Crookshanks this season.

Highlights
The second North Marion Huskie to sign with the Pioneers was their anchor of the offensive line this season in guard Nathan Miller Nathan Miller 6’4″ | 300 lbs | OL North Marion | 2024 State WV . Miller was a big factor in the Huskies’ running success this season making it all the way to the title game. The 6’4 300 big man rounded our Top 10 OL in the 2024 class and jumped up inside our Top 75 overall in the class.
Below was our evaluation of Miller this season.

The second signal caller to join the Pioneers in this class is Morgantown’s Maddox Bowers Maddox Bowers 6’1″ | 190 lbs | QB Morgantown | 2024 State WV . You won’t find a better WV QB duo in the same college recruiting class this season, and the Pioneers have two studs to choose from down the line for their QB1 spot. Bowers finished inside our Top 10 for 2024 quarterbacks this season and ranks inside the Top 70 overall. He and Crookshanks will have a tough competition in the future to be the Pioneers’ starter, but they’ll both make each other better in doing so and are two different styles of QBs.
Below was our evaluation of Bowers this season.

Highlights
Wheeling Park’s Derek Croghan Derek Croghan 6’5″ | 320 lbs | OL Wheeling Park | 2024 State WV played offensive line this season for the first time in a while and it paid off for the 6’5 big man. He was always going to sign with a D2 school whether he stayed as a DL specialist or not, but playing on the other side opened more eyes. We ranked Croghan as the #11 OL in the 2024 class which is high praise considering he wasn’t used to playing on that side of the ball. His ceiling increased a ton in doing so and he’ll now join former teammate Mike Hogan in the Pioneers’ OL room.
Below was our evaluation of Croghan before the season.

Croghan continues to learn how to fully utilize his size and strength and has a ton of upside for the future.
Independence sent three prospects in their senior class to Glenville State with the highest-ranked being LB Derrick “D” Hypes. Hypes was a PRZ WV Class AA First Team All-State selection this season and had about as productive of a senior year as you can have at the linebacker position. With his size and development at this stage, it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s seeing reps as a freshman and should be a player for the Pioneers sooner rather than later.
Below was our evaluation of Hypes this season.

Hurricane offensive lineman Caleb Conrad Caleb Conrad 6’3″ | 280 lbs | OL Hurricane | 2024 State WV saw his stock rise this season and signed with Glenville State on signing day. The 6’3 280 big man jumped inside our Top 125 and ranks as the #16 OL in the 2024 class. Conrad was a First Team All-MSAC performer this season and was named to the PRZ WV Class AAA Honorable Mention team. The Pioneers loaded up on in-state offensive line talent in this class, and they should produce some future starters as they push each other to get better over the next 4-5 years.
The second prospect who signed with Glenville State on signing day was Riverside’s Bryce Green Bryce Green 5’10” | 180 lbs | DB Riverside | 2024 State WV . Green ranks as a Top 125 player in the 2024 class and #10 DB. Glenville State lists him as an ATH so his future position is yet to be determined but he’ll have many options. Green played everywhere for the Warriors during his career and was a playmaker in all three phases of the game. He should be a player on special teams for the Pioneers before long and could be a steal in their 2024 class.
Below was our evaluation of Green this season.

Highlights
Just behind Green as the #3 signee for the Pioneers on signing day was Nitro linebacker Xiomar Henry Xiomar Henry 6’1″ | 200 lbs | LB Nitro | 2024 State WV . He led the Wildcats in tackles this season with 124 including 6 going for a loss. Once Henry continues filling out and putting on mass, he should be a future starter for the Pioneers and has MLB/OLB versatility. Henry was a PRZ WV Class AA Second Team All-State performer this season.

Glenville State signed two TEs ranked inside our Top 10 for the position with the highest-ranked being East Fairmont’s Avery Brown Avery Brown 6’2″ | 215 lbs | TE East Fairmont | 2024 State WV . Brown was mainly a bigger-bodied receiver during his time with the Bees, but at 6’2 215 his future outlook as a TE or H-Back looks very promising for the Pioneers. Brown was an All-Big 10 performer this season and was named to the WVSWA’s Class AA Honorable Mention All-State team.

The diamond in Glenville State’s class may just be Clay County WR BJ Williams BJ Williams 5’7″ | 160 lbs | WR Clay County | 2024 State WV . The 5’7 pass catcher seemingly made every Weekly Standouts article each week this season and had a huge senior year for the Panthers. He hauled in 79 passes for over 1,000 yards and 17 touchdowns while totaling just under 1,400 all-purpose yards this year. The three-year starter tallied over 2,600 career receiving yards and scored 44 touchdowns during his time at Clay. I have a feeling he’ll be a future headache for opposing defensive coordinators and someone who plays well above his size.

One of my personal favorite prospects in this class was Brooke DB/ATH Anthony Bachinski Anthony Bachinski 5’11” | 190 lbs | DB Brooke | 2024 State WV . he and I probably could’ve carpooled last summer during camp season as I seemingly saw him at every camp I attended. I was banging the drum all year for D2 schools to take a chance on him and sure enough a few pulled the trigger on an offer. Bachinski was an ultra-productive player and competitor for the Bruins for four years and played all over the field. He’ll start at the DB position for the Pioneers and don’t be surprised if he earns some future accolades at safety in college.
Below was our evaluation of Bachinski this season.

The Preston Knights will send one of their own to Glenville State with offensive lineman Greyson Kuhn Greyson Kuhn 6’1″ | 280 lbs | OL Preston | 2024 State WV . Kuhn was an All-Big 10 performer this season and was named to the WVSWA’s Class AAA Honorable Mention All-State team. He’s part of the Pioneers’ loaded 2024 OL class which currently posts 7 in-state signees.
Below was our evaluation of Kuhn before the season.

The second Independence Patriot to sign with Glenville State is offensive lineman Fisher Williams Fisher Williams 6’0″ | 280 lbs | OL Independence | 2024 State WV . The four-year contributor was part of the best stretch in school history which saw the Patriots make two Class AA state championship games and one ring. He’ll join fellow OL Micah Brown Micah Brown 6’4″ | 300 lbs | OL Independence | 2024 State WV along with Derrick Hypes Derrick Hypes 6’2″ | 215 lbs | LB Independence | 2024 State WV in Glenville as the trio looks to continue their high school success in college.

Ranked as a running back but will begin his college career as a linebacker, Shady Spring’s Gavin Davis Gavin Davis 6’0″ | 195 lbs | RB Shady Spring | 2024 State WV will take his talents to Glenville State this fall. Davis ranks inside our Top 200 and as the #16 RB in the class. He earned PRZ WV Class AA Second Team All-State honors as a linebacker and was one of the best two-way players in Class AA this season. Davis made five total appearances in our Weekly Standouts series and was one of the top rushers and scores in the state this season.
Tygarts Valley will send defensive lineman Seth Currence Seth Currence 6’0″ | 250 lbs | DL Tygarts Valley | 2024 State WV to Glenville State. Currence was a bright spot for the Bulldogs finishing as the second-leading tackler with 55 total tackles and 8 TFLs. He was named to the PRZ WV Class A Second Team All-State team this season as well as First Team Mason-Dixon conference honors.
Below was our evaluation of Currence before the season.

The third Independence Patriot and second offensive lineman to sign with Glenville State is Micah Brown Micah Brown 6’4″ | 300 lbs | OL Independence | 2024 State WV . Brown ranks inside our Top 250 and as the #36 overall lineman. He has the opportunity to outplay his ranking in college and has the prototypical size you’re looking for in a college offensive lineman. If he develops in the Pioneers’ program he has the chance to be a future starter at guard and could be another steal for Glenville State.
Below was our evaluation of Brown this season.

The second Top 10 TE in the 2024 class headed to Glenville State is Morgantown’s Nick DeProspero Nick DeProspero 6’2″ | 205 lbs | TE Morgantown | 2024 State WV . He ranks inside the Top 250 and is the #7 ranked TE in the class joining East Fairmont’s Avery Brown Avery Brown 6’2″ | 215 lbs | TE East Fairmont | 2024 State WV in the Pioneers’ TE class. We leaned towards a D3 grade on DeProspero but if he can add the size needed to play TE in college he can far outperform his ranking.
Below was our evaluation of DeProspero this season.

PRZ WV and WVSWA Class AA Honorable Mention All-State performer Matthew Jackson Matthew Jackson 6’0″ | 260 lbs | OL Frankfort | 2024 State WV out of Frankfort will join the loaded Glenville State in-state OL class and anchored the Falcons’ offensive line at center. He’s another Top 250 prospect in the 2024 class that will have the opportunity to outperform his ranking in college. Size is what hurt his ranking for us, but at center, he doesn’t need to be a goliath and can thrive in Glenville State’s strength and conditioning program after a year or two of putting on size.
Below was our evaluation of Jackson before the season.

Highlights
A Glenville State legacy, James Monroe’s Jackson Phipps Jackson Phipps 6’2″ | 225 lbs | LS James Monroe | 2024 State WV will join the Pioneers in their deep WV recruiting class. Phipps will have the opportunity to play right away as a long snapper for the Pioneers and has great size for the position at 6’2 225. Unfortunately, there weren’t any highlights at the time we updated our 2024 rankings, but Phipps looks much improved since his junior season with the limited highlights he has posted now. Although ranked as a Top 5 LS in the class, Phipps is likely closer to the Top 3 in reality and could be a multi-year starter for the Pioneers.
Below was our evaluation of Phipps this season.

Herbert Hoover’s Jaylen Symns Jaylen Symns 5’9″ | 155 lbs | WR Herbert Hoover | 2024 WV will be another pass catcher headed to Glenville State joining Clay County’s BJ Williams BJ Williams 5’7″ | 160 lbs | WR Clay County | 2024 State WV and TEs Avery Brown Avery Brown 6’2″ | 215 lbs | TE East Fairmont | 2024 State WV (East Fairmont) and Nick DeProspero Nick DeProspero 6’2″ | 205 lbs | TE Morgantown | 2024 State WV (Morgantown). One of the rare college prospects who was left out of our rankings due to no senior highlights at the time we updated the 2024 rankings. He likely will be a slot receiver in college with high returner upside and a playmaker with the ball in his hands. Showed a quick burst and release off the line and has great acceleration. Symns is a bit of an unknown to us due to his limited highlights, but Glenville State is sure to have done its homework and inks the Hoover product.
